Last week, the World Health Organization said that it was monitoring a variant dubbed XBB.1.16, or “Arcturus.” This is an Omicron subvariant, similar to the most transmissible COVID variant yet -- XBB.1.5,, nicknamed “Kraken.” And if that weren’t enough, a descendant of the new subvariant, XBB.1.16.1, has been detected in several states. To compile a list of all the states where the new COVID variant has been detected, 24/7 Tempo reviewed data provided by Tableau Public, an American interactive data visualization software company. The table is updated regularly. Population data came from U.S. Census Bureau's 2022 American Community Survey one-year estimates.
As of the end of March 2023, there have been a total of 195 confirmed cases of the Arcturus variant around America. More cases were being reported every week until week 12 of this year, when cases dropped from 65 to 48 to four. The decline, however, may be due to lack of reporting, not necessarily due to the virus slowing down.

The manager of the place I’m working at was down with (tested positive) Covid for a week during which she was severely fatigued. You know, suffering what we used to call “flu” symptoms. The flu which has always taken the old and infirm, could knock us out for a week or so, and if it didn’t turn into something fatal like pneumonia was overcome with rest and lots of liquids. The manager, BTW, is back and perky as ever.
Maybe not a replacement - but another big player in the mRNA industry. And it seems to be an industry.

I have asthma. I’ve found that food grade hydrogen peroxide (Not the brown bottle hydrogen peroxide) inhaled using a nebulizer helps greatly to clear out lung (and sinus) congestion.
When I wasn’t used to it it burned a bit so just began with shorter nebulizing time periods. It still is strong and will burn after a while but it works so well for me that it’s worth it.
I go for about three to ten minutes at a time and that’s enough. I breathe it into my sinuses, too, and it helps with sinus/allergy issues.
I’m not a medical professional so this is not advice - just my experience.
Afterward I lie on either side to allow each lung to drain.

Everyone time we are in a healthcare setting we see employees violating their employers’ infection control protocols with regard to the damn things.
Last time was in a lab setting.
That one was unbefreakinglievable.
If anyone has to use a hospital for anything, I’d make damn sure to find out what their nosocomial infection rate is beforehand, what’s roaming the facility, and what they’re doing about it.

Those tests are about the same as all tests. It seems we have all forgotten that there were lots of other respiratory illnesses before covid and just because we get sick, does not mean it is covid. It could be something worse than covid like the flu. I say that because when I had the flu I was far more ill than I was with covid.

Had omicron. While it wasn’t by any means pleasant, it wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had! This variant will be even less deadly than the omicron variant which was what? 98.7% survivable?

i had to go have a calcium study this morning, everyone at the radiolgy office had a mask on. as soon as i was done and out the door i took mine off. I hate having to wear one.
