Lawmakers move swiftly to expel three Democrats for their role in 'insurrection' at Tennessee state Capitol

Three Tennessee Democrats face expulsion from the General Assembly for their role in a protest that state House Republicans described as an "insurrection." What is the background?

Last Thursday, protesters demanding stricter gun control laws overwhelmed the state Capitol.

At one point, three Democratic state lawmakers — Reps. Gloria Johnson, Justin Jones, and Justin Pearson — broke decorum rules when they approached the House chamber lectern without being recognized to speak, whipped out a bullhorn, and participated with protesters who shouted from the chamber galleries.

Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton (R) later described the protest as an "insurrection." What is happening now?

On Monday, Republicans officially introduced formal resolutions to expel Johnson, Jones, and Pearson from the General Assembly.

The resolution justifies the expulsion based on grounds that the lawmakers "did knowingly and intentionally bring disorder and dishonor to the House of Representatives through their individual and collective actions," according to the Tennessean.

The three lawmakers were also stripped of their committee assignments, and their access to the Capitol was revoked.

The lawmakers are fiercely defending themselves, arguing there was not an "insurrection" and claiming House Republicans refused to let them speak last week.

Now, if we could only expel all gov’t employees involved in setting up Jan. 6th.

Poor mistreated little nizzles. Tennessee is full of them as Memphis, Jackson, and Chattanooga are becoming more like Chicago.

“claiming House Republicans refused to let them speak”

so they figured that they would get a bullhorn and take over the house? Throw them out of the place that’s not acceptable behavior. Republicans need to get some teeth.

Throw their Marxist asses in jail. Just make something up and do it. That’s where we are now. We cannot be steamrolled without retaliation. Democrats are not going to stop if we do nothing. Everyone needs to fight. If you have Democrats working for you, fire their asses. Make them poor. Don’t take anymore crap. Go to school board meetings and attack groomer Democrat teachers, administrators and board members. Go to Democrat representative’s town halls and campaign event and fully exercise your first amendment rights. Sue the government and sue Democrats for anything you can make up. That leftist next door neighbor, trigger his ass into doing something slightly illegal or more and then call the police. Humiliate Democrats anywhere and everywhere you go. Wear your MAGA hat defiantly. Make Democrats feel like they are outnumbered and all alone.

No, no, no.

It is only called “an insurrection” when conservatives protest. When liberals riot, loot and commit arson it is called “a mostly peaceful protest.”

We cannot be steamrolled without retaliation.

I only hope that Republican DA's in solidly Republican counties and states around the country are racing to see who can be the first to indict Biden, Obama and the Clintons.

The two racist monkeys, if expelled, will easily be replaced by similar animals from their respective ghettos in Nashville & Memphis. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be expelled and then incarcerated every bit as long as the J6 “insurrectionists” have been — and more.

However if that ugly dyke gets the boot, Republicans have a real chance to pick up a seat there. The GOP already has way more than a supermajority in the Tennessee House so a 1 seat pickup isn’t terribly relevant to anything having to do with control, but a pickup would be the icing on the cake if justice is actually served here.

I’m okay with that, there’d be a lot less D’s in the House (Pelousy one of those gone) and I would ascertain that there may be about 5 or 10 FBI personnel left.
