McDonald's has temporarily shut down all of its U.S. offices as it prepares to deliver layoff messages online to a number of their employees across the country.
According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, the layoffs - part of a company restructuring - will begin Monday after the company told employees to work from home so it can fire their staff virtually.
'During the week of April 3, we will communicate key decisions related to roles and staffing levels across the organization,' McDonald's officials said in a memo.

I’m tying this together with the change in China and Brazil’s agreement to do away with US currency....something is up.

One of the biggest impacts of the Covid shut downs and remote work is companies discovering just how many employees they really don't need.
One of the biggest impacts of the Biden Administration is companies discovering just how many employees they cannot afford.

There was a time when McDonalds was fast and cheap. It is not necessarily the highest quality food, but you knew what it was, you could get it fast, and not spend a ton of money. Nothing against McDonald's food. I have eaten a ton of it over the years.
But now, at least where I live, a McDonalds meal will set you back ten dollars. If you have a couple of kids, your bill can easily be $25.00. I mean, there have been times when I said, I can buy steaks and put them on the grill cheaper.
Furthermore, from my experience, it is no longer fast. The wait time can often be ten or fifteen minutes. The things that made McDonalds are no longer true. I am not saying I don't go to McDonalds, but I sure don't go very often any more.

McD stock up $2.20 today. This has nothing to do with people not going to McD, it is a corporate restructuring and the market likes it.
