Dozens of Donald Trump supporters rallied around the former president during an event held in New York by Florida Governor Ron DeSantis.
DeSantis is strongly expected to confirm he is running against Trump in the GOP primary for the party's 2024 presidential nomination. He spoke at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, Staten Island on Saturday as part of his national tour promoting his new book, The Courage to be Free: Florida's Blueprint for America's Revival.
Outside the venue, a group of Trump supporters were picketing the event and criticized the governor for appearing in the former president's home state just days before he is set to be indicted in New York as part of the Stormy Daniels hush money investigation.
"We're seeing a bunch of Long Island, New York Trump supporters rallying on behalf of the 45th and 47th president," Paul Ingrassia, co-host of the Right on Point podcast, told a reporter on Saturday.
"Just coming out to show that this is Trump country, this is not a place for Ron DeSantis. We're very upset by the fact that DeSantis has the temerity to step on Trump territory days before this indictment thing is going down."

The event was most likely scheduled long before this stupid indictment. The shame is having in-fighting at this time; it merely gives joy and happiness,however temporary, to the actual enemy, the Democrats. Remember them?

You do not see DeSantis people trying to disrupt Trump rallies. Most DeSantis supporters will vote for Trump if he gets the nomination. But many Trump supporters threaten they will not vote for DeSantis if Trump loses the nomination.
Mind you, this is not all Trump supporters. This is a small group of cultists.
Well, since DeSantis is the governor of Florida, I think they're wrong. It's also the wrong approach. As Ronald Reagan said many times, "Thou shalt not speak ill of another Republican."
This is NOT normal. It's disgusting. DeSantis has to be silenced??

Yeah, this board never really recovered from 2016. Just a (relative) handful of new articles every day, many of which are on the same topic.
I was a big admirer of DeSantis. He seemed to have an uncanny way of knowing the “right” thing to say and do.
His actions in the last couple of weeks tells me he either lost that good innate sense or he never had it.
His TIMING in doing what he is doing is HORRIBLE.
Makes me sad.
