A former pastor at the school where Nashville shooter Audrey Hale killed six people on Monday claimed she was being couseled by Chad Scruggs, the father of one of the victims, only to later say he had been mistaken.
Jim Bachmann said in an interview with Inside Edition that Hale appeared to be searching for Scruggs, the current pastor at the Covenant School, in surveillance footage the police released.
However, when approached by The Post on Wednesday, Bachmann said he had since realized he was wrong.
“I understand that they were not counseling, actually,” Bachmann said.
“I think there’s just some confusion because she had, years earlier.
“But these last two days, I’ve had several messages from an assortment of people that not only was there no counseling between those two, that he didn’t even know her,” Bachmann said.
Bachmann confirmed that representatives from Covenant, a private Christian school, had been in touch to tell him him he was incorrect, and added that he had been influenced by social media and the way he had perceived surveillance video of Hale released by the police.

Shoulda sent the biatch to an exorcist.
the MSM is blaming it on gambling! LOL
I simply can't understand people. Why use your public position to run the risk of speculation? Or to say things you may know are not true, especially in such an emotional time?

This guy is a former pastor?
Doesn’t seem to want to make sure he gets the truth before speaking.
This guy must have missed those verses about gossiping ...

I read an article about an interview with a former teacher at Covenant who did not remember Hale. He has the annual yearbooks for the years she would attended and found her picture only in the 3rd and 4th grades, assuming she transferred to public schools in the fifth grade.
So,if her gender disorder was school related it could hardly be related to the two years at Covenant. Unless it was confusion of remembering the theme of a Christian school was living a life of love and service was the antithesis of the theme of transgender living of hate normality and selfish desire!

He read it on social media. It must be true!!! (sar)
CLASSIC!!!!
Blaming what on gambling? That Audrey killed 6 people?
Happens here on FR and other social media all the time. People jump the gun and pop off with bald assertions about something before all the facts are in. The difference is, since he is a public figure, this guy had no choice but to recant his words. People on social media rarely admit they were wrong, but let the rash speculation just hang in the air like a bad smell poisoning the air.
Still funny after all these decades.
Temptation to be part of a big story is very strong in some people.
He’s not a “public figure” any more than I am.
He’s a former minister who probably preached at least once about the evil of bearing false witness against one’s neighbor. He is duty-bound to repent and correct the record, which he finally did.
yeah butt she aint lyin’
Better yet, Audrey should’ve been sent back to hell like the demon she is!
