King Charles visits Germany in first trip abroad as monarch

Britain's King Charles III arrived in Germany on Wednesday afternoon, starting his first trip abroad as monarch. He is joined by his wife, Queen Consort Camilla.

The king had been scheduled to visit France first, but that part of the journey was canceled due to the ongoing and widespread protests against President Emmanuel Macron's pension reforms.

What are the plans for the royal visit?

Charles and Camilla will be greeted by President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife, Elke Büdenbender, at Berlin's Brandenburg Gate, followed by a state dinner in the evening at Bellevue Palace.

At Brandenburg Gate, the German public will get the chance to come face-to-face with the royal couple. Those wishing to see the new king were advised to turn up early, with the space only accommodating some 1,500 spectators. Members of the public began gathering at the landmark on Wednesday morning.

The two heads of state are expected to discuss sustainability and the transition to renewable energy. Environmental protection is one of the king's pet causes.

On Thursday, the royal couple will meet with Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Berlin Mayor Franziska Giffey. Charles is also due to give a speech to Germany's parliament, the Bundestag, making him the first British monarch to do so.

The pair will then travel to Hamburg before returning to the UK.

A regular visitor to Germany, the British Embassy in Berlin has said that Charles has visited the country some 40 times as prince.

Charles' coronation will be held on May 6, some eight months after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Never thought I would say this, but England should get rid of the Monarchy.

I enjoyed the Pomp and Circumstance, but

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH....KING CHARLES FOR PETE’S SAKE...

Blood will out.

Anyone else ever wonder just how many Windsor babies have been conceived with the help of Mr. Science?

And if abortion has been used to weed out the...defective.

King Charles was a woke and weak Prince. He is now a woke and weak King.
King Charles “The Weak”. He enables Harry and Meghan to tear down the Royal Family.

He’s barely related to the Hapsburgs at all. House of Hesse in its various branches, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, a sprinkling of Hohenzollern, etc. German Protestant royalty, not Austrian Catholic royalty.

I have great respect for the UK Monarchy, and especially for queen Elisabeth.
She did an exemplary work, and was a great person during WWII.

However, Meghan and Harry behave like self-centered, uber-selfish spoiled brats. The only thing they like and are obsessed about is... money, money money.
She has destroyed Harry and made him her little personal puppet. Harry is too weak to resist. Sad.

Those two should be expelled from anything that has to do with royalty. They belong to the Hollywood people.

I think the King Charles is actually doing something about that.

The Kingdom of UK represents centuries upon centuries of history and traditions. Traditions and history are the only “tools” we have left to fight wokeism.

A note of nostalgia :
The best king France ever had was Charlemagne (Charles the Great). He saved and united Western and Central Europe.

After everything he and his wife have said in interviews, books, etc I’d be surprised if anyone in the family wants to speak to them or be around them.

Charles is a descendant of Mary Boleyn, Anne’s sister, on his maternal grandmother’s side. Princess Diana was also a Mary Boleyn descendant, so Prince William is descended from Mary Boleyn on both his mother’s and father’s side.
