"EYM King of Michigan, a corporation based in Irving, Texas, owns the restaurants that will be closing. It informed the Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity of its failure to reach an agreement with the Burger King Corporation and of the impending layoffs on 22 March. According to reporting from ClickOn Detroit, the store closures began on 17 March and will continue through next month."
Booger King sucks.
THAT is very believable
I Applaud this owner.
IF I were in same spot-—I would wish to do so also.
“You can thank the thugs behind the burn loot murder movement for this!”
I have a feeling you are correct. There are certain neighborhoods that are avoided.
He recognized that he can’t make a profit in the impending work environment, so he’s getting out before the business becomes an albatross around him.
I don’t blame him a bit.
In Wisconsin, that would be a ‘Culver’s.

Try their Grilled Ruben, if you haven’t yet.
No, I make the best French fries. I use lard/Manteca. I cut them fresh, dust with flour and fry in an iron skillet. Granny taught me well.
I tried a burger for lunch at Culver’s in MN. a year or two ago. Was highly disappointed.
I’ll stick with the local bar burgers, they know how to do it right.
I grew up in Livonia. It was a great place until it was not. Although, I remember having a Burger Chef restaurant close to my school. They had a Works bar where you could add all kind of crap to your $.59 burger. It. Was. The. Best!
Burger King suck and always has… I won’t buy fast food from anywhere these days because I worry about spit and/or other contaminants because I be white and apparently that’s how “they” fight back against the “patriarchy” or something.
I quit BK when they started to serve fake meat.
Some of those locations have a high percentage of transsexuals, so they’re likely looking out for the safety of their employees.
Probably a number of factors in the closing, but is surprising that the owner did not or was not able to sell the business to someone else. Wonder if theft and having a hard time hiring was two factors here as well as theft.
Not a laughing matter. I lost my favorite closest Burger King a few months ago. A loss.
LOL
I’m not a big fan of their burgers, either. I always order the Cod Sandwich or the Walleyed Pike. (Walleye)
So are they losing the franchise (rather than just downsizing?)
The Culver near me did away with their walleye. Wife and I had to settle for their cod sandwich tonight.
