kraine's Air Force said it will now allow foreigners to serve as pilots and engineering specialists, with a spokesperson stressing the fact that Ukraine will likely need international recruits if and when it starts to receive Western combat aircraft.
Yurii Ihnat, a spokesperson for the commander of Ukraine's air force, said in a statement Thursday that foreign citizens will be able to join if they have suitable military training.
"If they have a military occupation such as a pilot or aviation engineer, then these people can legally become servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," he said.

RE: Ukraine’s air force is now allowing foreigners to sign up as pilots as it pushes for Western fighter jets
And which foreigner who can fly these fighter jets are foolish enough to sign up?
Just yesterday, HotAir had a story about Russia wanting foreign troops showed how “desperate” they are that they’re “fast running out of men.”
But I guess everything is peachy-keen in Ukraine when they’re doing the same?
No, absolutely no.
(Thanks for asking, however.)
>> And which foreigner who can fly these fighter jets are foolish enough to sign up?
Maybe the foreigner who wants to steal one, and fly it to ChiCom-friendly territory?
* For Poland in the Soviet-Polish War (1919-21).
* For the Whites in the Russian Civil War (1917-22).
* For China in the Second Sino-Japanese War (1937-45).
One time flight. Kamakazis.
Yes, an old American tradition.
Russian airmen fought against the USA during Vietnman and Korea. But, they were the good guys.. I guess.
I think Putin could arrange for cheap Chinese pilots and Chinese A&P technicians labor by way of the Biden Family Syndicate, and The Big Guy can get his 10% toward his 2024 basement campaign. See? Everybody gets their beak wet.
It’s awful when Americans do things Russians have always done, against Russians. Cause, I guess, biden?
Yes, 14 months ago the world saw the Russian military and Ukrainian as totally different.
It was shocking to see Russia brought down to desperation while everyone thought that Ukraine could only survive for a few days or weeks.
What is shocking about Ukraine is that this is the 14th month they have survived against mighty Russia, it is not shocking that they are desperately struggling to do so.
I didn’t know that Russia had a history of its civilian pilots signing up to fight for freedom around the world.
Do you have a source?
I didn’t know they did either, but they did have Soviet Russian pilots fighting against Americans back then.
That’s all I meant, if you meant Russians are saints otherwise, ok.
But many people were also surprised when Russia beat Napoleon and Hitler.
As Bismark said, "Russia is never as strong or as weak as she appears."
It seems one can never be certain of the outcome when fighting Russia.
Your posts to me on this thread have not made sense, that is why I asked you for a source of what I thought you were claiming.
You aren’t making any sense.
I’d be more impressed if they hadn’t received years worth of Russia’s annual military budget in weapons and handouts from the West to just stay afloat.
How long would they have survived without the foreign welfare?
Nevermind then, my time here is limited anyway. Good luck
