WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Thirteen-year-old Lilly Carriere loves art and sometimes, even homework. She's also an advocate for transgender rights and followed the debate over bills at the statehouse related to LGBTQ issues.
"I didn't know like this was actually Iowa and this was going to happen at first. But when it became more real, I started to get into what is happening," Lilly said.
For her, what comes out of these discussions matter because Lilly started the transition from male to female last year.
"It's a really nice thing having supportive people in my life," Lilly said.
Since Gov. Kim Reynolds signed the 'bathroom bill' into law, when Lilly wants to use the restroom at school now, she must go to the boys' room, unless she requests special accommodations. She did and now uses the bathroom in the nurse's office.
"It's just really frustrating that's happening and I'm being targeted," Lilly said.
The governor also signed a bill into law that bans gender transition procedures for anyone under 18 years old. That ban includes puberty blockers, which Lilly takes every three months.
"It was already hard to get these puberty blockers and and now there's it's just being said, oh, you can't get them anymore," said Katie Carriere, Lilly's mom.
Because of these changes, the Carriere family is planning to move back home to Minnesota.
"When someone comes after your kids. It's hard to just say, 'I'm going to sit back and let that continue to happen,'" said Brandon Carriere, Lilly's dad.
Lilly says this journey was not always easy but she is grateful how her family and friends make life feel easier.
That poor kid will likely be dead before he/she (can’t be sure) reaches 35. These destroyed lives don’t have a very long shelf life.
He should have been more concerned about the LBGQT+ groomers who have infiltrated our schools and indoctrinate our kids and worse.
Being a regular faggot wasn’t getting their kid enough attention.

All predictable with the legalization of gay marriage, they have to keep pushing the envelope. Now if you just agree with homo marriage, and not the other stuff, that pretty much makes you a "Conservative" now.
A thirteen year old from obviously a troubled home should not be coerced into a sex change. I blame the parents and the so called “healthcare professionals” who pushed this kid into changing his sex. Bravo for the State of Iowa to restore sanity on the transgender madness. Sadly in the neighboring People’s Republic of Minnesota the kid is now guaranteed the right to be castrated, mutilated and pumped full of deadly hormones before he is old enough to buy cigarettes.
I’m sure the local normals are heartbroken.
My understanding is that psychologists inform the parents that their choice is “transition or suicide”, take your pick.
I’m not saying the parents are still not at fault but the medical industry is probably not helping here...too much money to be had.
Yeah...there’s no such thing as “transitioning”. It’s impossible to switch from a boy to a girl. You’re only succeeding in chemical and surgical mutilation - giving an appearance of a change, but without ever being able to experience the full range of sexuality and procreation capabilities of either sex. It’s an abomination.
This delusional boy and child abusing mother need to look at the sad train wreck of Jared Jennings, the mutilated young man they call Jazz.
Even now, I don’t play along with that family’s fantasy ... I call him simply, “Jennings.” (Sad, really, putting him in the same breath as my man Ken, or even Peter — Jared isn’t even worthy to be mentioned alongside them.)
Unfortunately Jared Jennings was abused and mutilated by his mother and “caregivers” following a satanic worldview. His life is being destroyed for money, fame and entertainment. He knows something is wrong. He gained 100 pounds and states he just doesn’t feel like himself. His mother threatened him with sex abuse if he doesn’t stick with her trans agenda. He’ll never reach puberty. I wouldn’t be surprised if he had suicidal thoughts. The parents, teachers, counselors, producers, pharmaceutical execs and doctors who are destroying him should be in jail. Pray he escapes them and reclaims his life as Walt Heyer and other detransitioners did.
The # of families moving out of Chicago due to crime, violence and taxes is, of course, not newsworthy.
