Former President Donald Trump claims that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg has “dropped” an investigation into him over the “hush money” payment to porn star Stormy Daniels.
Trump, 76, made the assertion while speaking to reporters on his jet Saturday night after a campaign rally in Waco, Texas, Axios reported.
“I think they’ve already dropped the case,” Trump said. “It’s a fake case. Some fake cases, they have absolutely nothing.”
Trump didn’t say what led him to believe he was off the hook.
A spokesperson for Bragg, a Democrat, declined to comment Sunday on Trump’s remarks but pointed to an unrelated Saturday statement that referred to the Daniels hush money probe as “an ongoing matter.”
Trump’s remarks came a day after he sparked controversy with a social-media post that showed him aiming a baseball bat at Bragg’s head.
They also came a week to the day after he wrongly predicted he would be arrested March 21, leading to a surge in donations and his standing in the polls. *** The grand jury is reportedly scheduled to reconvene Monday to consider the Trump case.

The headline is a bit misleading.
“I think they’ve already dropped the case,” Trump said.
liberalism is a paved baited trail of false evidence

I hope one day to get the inside story on Trump's declaration.
Seems to me like President Trump was attempting to get inside Bragg's decision making loop.
After Trump declared he knew that Tuesday was D-Day, Bragg couldn't do Tuesday and prove Trump right - and raise the possibly that Trump might have a mole in the DAs office.
Again, “it seems” Trump was trying to stop Bragg dead in his tracks and force him and his team to re-think everything.
Plus, with his arrest talk Trump was throwing red meat to his base and prompting legal scholars to speak out against political prosecutions. Several have.
Today Bragg is facing a head wind stronger than before Trump claimed Tuesday was the day.
Good assessment, and a good prebuttal to those who will complain that Trump was hyping something that he knew wasn’t true. The likely reason it may end up not being true, is that Trump’s “hyping” caused Bragg to feel the heat.
There are reports the DA’s office is in chaos with the majority against this investigation. It is not unlikely someone leaked the info to Trump or someone close to him. additionally, they might have started negotiations with the secret service who could have leaked it to Trump. At any rate, Trump got out in front of them and changed the narrative, an arrest at this point would not have the same effect as it would have.
Trump being the master troll again
Bragg will come out and deny it
Then in a couple weeks, he’ll be forced to admit it
Bragg is a black thug.
The most dangerous investigation is Georgia where they have receipts. I’m not sure why he’s wasting time worried about this one.
Or, it could be, that Trump being Trump, saw an
opportunity to get attention, get people riled up,
and use the speculation as a fundraising tool.
In the meantime, people are losing confidence
in regional banks, democrats want to take away
our gas stoves, recession is being predicted, etc.,
but what are people talking about, Trump.
NOW—Biden wants our air conditioners and air purifiers.
Yeah, it was genius to post the picture with Trump holding the baseball bat and a pic of Bragg. That's why he subsequently removed it.
Donald J. Trump @realDonaldTrump
They have absolutely no case. The only witnesses are against their so-called “star” witness, a serial liar, convicted felon, and disbarred lawyer. I did nothing wrong, and they know it. This, and everything else that they are doing with the DOJ-led Witch Hunt, is all about ELECTION INTERFERENCE, their new and “highly sophisticated” method of cheating on Elections!

Receipts of what nappy? How deep are you into GA's corrupt grand jury fiasco? What do you think you know? You have a habit of late of making scurrilous charges/statements towards Trump and running away (rally attendance jumps to the front). Tell the world.
Did you get the vapors?
No, because it was clearly more Winning!
That's good, I was worried about you.
However, I doubt an Atlanta grand jury would make that distinction, especially based on what I had seen from the dimwitted jury forewoman.
If they do indict, it is going to be far worse politically than anything Bragg has. People have forgotten how Trump acted in these phone calls, like demanding the Speaker of the Georgia House convene a special session of the Legislature to overturn the election. While it may not technically be illegal, it looks terrible.
Attack the weakest case first and hard in an attempt to knock it out.
If knocked out, then proclaim all the other allegations are just as weak and part of a pattern to “get Trump” for purely political reasons.
Such a charge by Trump would have the merit of being true - he is being attacked by Dem DAs for political reasons.
Regardless of what you think of Trump, Democrat DAs are villainy on steroids.
Harvard Law, Affirmative Action....like Obama.
