Church "membership" and "attendance" are two different things. Not everyone who comes to service is a member.
625 members probably means about 800+ weekly attenders. That's big (not "mega-church" big), but pretty good.
I wonder who is the 9 morons who voted to stay?
There are protocols that allow the congregation to keep their facilities. I am certain this body understood the process clearly enough to protect their holdings.
You are precisely correct. Confession and sanctification have been utterly lost in the United Methodist Church. John Wesley has been spinning in his grave for decades.
The priesthood must be restored.
I just now did the same thing. I will keep my tag line.
>> Christians are, of course, to strive for peace and avoid conflict when they can
Except for that necessary outcome of a violent death on the cross
“Finally someone cuts from the UMC?”
In the South many UMC churches have voted to leave the old UMC and join a new church with a traditional faith.
That’s not very many people voting. Why can’t homo trans perverts leave 600 people alone to worship as they do, and not be forced to worship at the altar of trans faggotry?
I’m sure there’s many commercial building coming up soon.

I suspect the numbers voting were the ones that actually attended the church, not the ones on the member roll.
I haven’t attended a church that was controlled by an “association” since I was a pre-teen. I’m more of an independent Baptist type who prefers her sermons be directly from the Bible rather than the pre-prepared sermon sent to the pastor a few days before Sunday morning services, complete with the cute sermon title and “out-of-context” verses he is told to quote included.
Futt buckers are not welcome in the New Testament church.
Read First Corinthians, Chapter 4 and/or 5.
Well, they are welcome if they repent and generally abstain from the sin of sodomy.
Same is true for fornicators.
Covetous people.
Greedy persons.
Adulterers.
The entire list is sort of a Big Ten of the type of sins that characterize many unbelievers. But not all-inclusive.
Very sad how many “Christians” have little to no regard for much of what is written in Holy Scripture. Even denying the God who paid for salvation of those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ.
I cannot, for the life of me, understand why so many “believers” are supporting homosexuals in the UMC!
To me, it is a “no brainer;” there is NO PLACE in the Methodist Church for homosexuals!
So, our church is dis-affiliating!
They’re still paying full price for the camel and swallowing it whole.
Yes, a perfect way to never have to practice your Christinaity among other who are Christian. Christ created his church for reason and it was not to sit home alone. Love God and love others. Church helps us learn to love others.
Community and gathering in worship are biblical - so if you actually read the Bible you know that is an act of obedience.
Yes.
Churches should stand for the gospel. Everything else will take care of itself.
