Forget taking jeans off in a launderette to soul music - Levi's will now be using AI models to show off their denim.
The company has joined forces with a digital fashion studio that builds customized AI-generated models.
Levi's parent company LS&Co. says they are planning tests of the technology later this year to use the AI models to supplement human models.
They explained it will increase "the number and diversity of our models for our products in a sustainable way."

Many.
I know this article, does not directly say anything whatsoever about job cuts.
But this is just the first, tiniest hint of what is starting.
Hold on people.
Actors. Journalists. Programmers. Teachers. Scientists. Researchers.
Pretty much any job that relies on communication will be affected.
Now models won’t have to diet to stay skeletal. They won’t be able to buy food anyway.
We’ve seen this coming for a long time. But it will take a while to be fully implemented.
Levi’s is doing the smart thing with the new technology. Lots of people are simply hard to fit. If they can use AI to match their product to more body types, whatever the body, they’ll make more sales. Capitalism at its best. Fit the product to the consumer. Kudos, Levi’s.
Fat Robots!!!
A CGI Justin Timberlake model seems to have you all steamed up.
That is the most concerning aspect of this thread🕺🏻
Fit the product to the consumer
AI Robot named Bundy
Woman: “How dare you say that to my face?” Al: “Well, I would say it to your back but my car’s only got a half a tank of gas!”
Huh?
😎
HA! Thanks for the Friday night laugh!
I kind of wonder whether the job market impacts coming up due to this sort of thing, are exactly why there have been so many reductions in so many, really big companies recently?
And you are right, about your list.
Aspiring models will now have to get a second waiter job to support their budding career. AI will be the death of a nation, the gap between haves and have nots will widen greatly and rapidly.
I hate to say this, but the jobs most secure go-forward, are exactly the jobs we have been sending to China for the last 30 years.
(I think)
Am I wrong?
Will they still be obese black women?
If they link the AI to the production system then even simple items like blue jeans could be bespoke.
Yeah. Game changer.
Who would have that modeling would follow typists and horse and buggy operators as becoming obsolete occupations?
A once great tough product, Levi’s are now cheap garbage.
Pretty sure they’re already doing this on some Chinese companies I was perusing lately on Amazon the other day. I noticed that the skirt was different each time but the model was the same. I thought at the time that it was pry a lot cheaper to do it that way than to hire models, provide changing areas, stylists, etc., especially since they photoshop the pics anyway.
