My 72-year-old uncle will still make the 1000-mile trip from Maryland to central Florida to see a friend and do it all in one shot, without a hotel stay in the middle.
Lawrence is for me a serene calming almost religious experience. Used to sometimes watch it in the early and mid-60s with my parents. On rare days I will still watch the show—maybe the draw for me is memories. I am only in my 70s and look forward to many more episodes (though Likely seen a time or two).

I knew an older couple that would drive from Houston to Phoenix for classic car shows. They would leave around 3 AM to get to El Paso in time for the early bird dinner specials.
That would be amazing accuracy.
Yes. I forgot about the infamous U S 1 with a speed limit of something like 45. I had to go to a wedding around Marathon last December. Seems like it took three hours from Miami. I did see some paint dry, though.
