Chris Rock joked that former President Donald Trump was “romantic” for allegedly paying off porn star Stormy Daniels — while calling lawmakers “stupid” for wanting him arrested, warning it will only inflate his popularity.
The 58-year-old funnyman addressed the expected arrest as he helped honor Adam Sandler at the Mark Twain Prize late Sunday — directly addressing lawmakers in the audience, including Nancy Pelosi.
‘”Are you guys really going to arrest Trump?” Rock asked the crowd, according to the Daily Mail, which noted that several officials from the Biden administration were in the Kennedy Center crowd.
“Do you know this is only going to make him more popular. It’s like arresting Tupac” Shakur, he quipped of the late rapper.
“He’s just gonna sell more records. Are you stupid?” he asked to a roar of laughter, according to the outlet.

I’ll tell you all what the stupidest thing on the planet would be.
Rigging an election so that just about every single vote for your candidate appeared in the same 20 minute interval late at night when you’ve told your opponents monitors to go home.
Winning the election, and then NOT making sure the next election wasn’t completely fake so that your horrible candidate didn’t even have a chance of losing, and that your efforts weren’t wasted.
Or, being on the losing party and thinking “the people who successfully stole that last election won’t get away with it this time! “
Which of those two options do you think is more likely?
Impeached twice and now he’ll have his own booking number and mugshot to sell copies of and right books about. Trump is going to be twice the celebrity that he was before the rabid RAT leftwingers decided to take him on.
Rock is what he is.
Most people are not hard blue or red.
We need to remember that.
Rock has to make some compromises to continue to work in Hollywood.
The same people who voted for Trump in 2016 but voted for Biden in 2020.
