Russia does not use hypersonic weapons in fact now, though it has them, same as other cutting-edge systems, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview for the "Moscow. Kremlin. Putin" program on Rossiya-1 TV channel published by journalist Pavel Zarubin on his Telegram channel on Sunday.

Interesting in it's brevity, Putin says the Russians are not using the good stuff.
To: Navy Patriot
They have used a few of them...
Just to let the NATO generals know.

They without question used it last year to destroy the NATO training complex in Western Ukraine.

no need to use Hyper-sonic weapons when regular speed missiles hit the target just fine. If they were to be used it would be to hit London or New York. Or they might be used if Ukraine was able to knock down a conventional missile.
I assume Putin’s statement is meant to warn the west not to underestimate him.

Interesting in it's brevity, Putin says the Russians are not using the good stuff. Sure, that's why Russia is resurrecting T62's, because its saving all the "good stuff" for...

Russia has used them but they have only used a few because they probably only have a few, I’m sure they’re very expensive to manufacture versus other cruise missiles they have, why shoot one very expensive missile when you can shoot multiple other missiles with the same basic effectiveness.

They also have laser weapons and a Death star .. /sarc
bzzzt... nope - they have some hypersonic weapons but hardly in any numbers. Otherwise they would have used it to turn the tide of the war, which has been a constant Russian retreat for 8 months and a stalemate in Bakhmut

No need to use Hyper-sonic weapons when regular speed missiles hit the target just fine.True, however Russia did use First Generation Hypersonic Missiles and has acknowledged it.
Putin spoke as if he considers First Generation Hypersonic Missiles so slow that they are no longer Hypersonic.

As mentioned by others, the strength you actually is enhanced if possible opponents think you have more than you actually do.

Why use the good stuff when traditional weapons suffice? Only morons like generals in the US military piss away tax dollars using smart weapons when dumb bombs would do the job at a fraction of the cost.

Perhaps Putin is pulling T62s out of moth balls because they are cheaper than Javelin missiles and Putin has almost as many T62s as NATO has Javelins.
Literally.
A Russian T72 tank can be had for about $50K - a T62 is less.
A Javelin costs about $175K for the launch system and about $80K for the missile itself.
Russia is ramping up production of it's newest version of the T90 tanks

From what I can see it looks like Russia is using its tanks as artillery pieces. Today I watched video of Russians using drones to pinpoint targets for tanks and artillery. The strikes were very accurate. It's a lot cheaper to use an older tank to take out smaller targets then any kind of missile. I also think drones are playing a huge part in this war. It's a mix of high tech and low tech weapons but it looks like a deadly combination. I hope we are learning from this war.
