Mac is showing he has a spine. Whether it was forced upon him or his on his own volition, it’s a good sign, especially for a Republican.
I said many times (and took flak) that we could do much worse than McCarthy.
My reasoning was never that he was a champion of MAGA, it was always because I thought he would respond to pressure and criticism unlike McConnell (or Ryan).
With that said, he has exceeded my expectations so far.
I think having a spine was sort of forced on him, and then suddenly he discovered that he liked it.
