BERLIN (AP) — The head of the United Nations called Monday for scientists to serve up “cold, hard facts” to push governments into making policies that curb climate change before a key global warming threshold is passed.
In a video address to delegates, U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that the latest report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change “could not come at a more pivotal time.”
“Our world is at a crossroads — and our planet is in the crosshairs,” he said. “We are nearing the point of no return; of overshooting the internationally agreed limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) of global warming.”
Guterres stressed that speeding up the phase-out of fossil fuels is “tough but essential.”
“Show the urgent need to end global heating with cold, hard facts,” he told delegates.

“cold hard” = “approved” facts.
“...cold, hard facts...”
1) Trump received golden showers in Russia hotel.
2) The Hunter Biden laptop from hell is a Russian ploy.
3) January 6th was an insurrection
Russia, Russia, Russia!
I wonder what cold, hard facts Tony the Portuguese politician will use to explain the “pause”, or lack of temperature increase, since 2000.
EC
“UN chief: ‘Cold, hard facts’ should guide climate policy”
So they’re jettisoning the Globalists? Why do I doubt that.
Communist clowns. The first time that I can find the UN environmental head declaring we only have 10 years left to stop the catastrophe is January 25, 1972.
These guys have an agenda, and it may be driven by cold hard facts but they are certainly not climate facts. More like facts of human nature and enslaving masses of people,
The issue is never the issue. This has nothing to do with climate. It has everything to do with a one world totalitarian system run by oligarchs and people who think they are the elites.
1.5c. It used to be 2C, but that was hard to achieve, so they lowered the aim!
“Point of no return” . Said by people who have never not ever not once been right.
And every day that this Maoist pig flaps him gums his puppet masters in Beijing bring 25 new coal fired power plants online.
Cold, hast fact.

China and India first since their pollution is the worst. Then we should go after the oil wells in the middle east. Maybe after that the traffic problems in South America. Definitely Europe as they have way too much coal and oil generated energy.
Once all of that is done, then the USA can contribute. Until then FOAD UN.
Uh, should it be “RED HOT FACTS”? Oh, and hey u.n....🖕
I tried to find a source for your statement, but could not. I did find a lot about "climate change and the UN," but nothing about the 10 year time frame.
Could you please provide a good reference? I would like to use it in my own discussions.
Usually, I tell people that when I was in high school (in the mid 1970s), the experts were telling us that we were all going to freeze to death.
“Our world is at a crossroads — and our planet is in the crosshairs,” he said. “We are nearing the point of no return; of overshooting the internationally agreed limit of 1.5 degrees Celsius (2.7 Fahrenheit) of global warming.”
Rhetoric and metaphors belong in poetry and have nothing to do with facts. The fact is the world has already warmed by maybe 1.3 degrees since 1850, how can it possibly make a difference if it warms another .2 degrees, which is much less than a human can detect.
Claiming we need facts, this dipstick says the world is “at a crossroads”. The world is not a car. It does not travel on roads or approach “crossroads”. “Crosshairs” are the lines in a gunsight. There is no gun aimed at the earth. The whole climate scam is based on vast exaggeration of trivial changes in weather.
Just depends on who paid for the “facts”.
Then shut it down.
Good - fact number 1 there is no such things as man made climate change.
Any questions - see fact 1.
I am pretty sure that the :COLD HARD FACTS we were given about Covid has erased most trust in GOVERNMENTS
