Your gonna have to say it louder:

We’re working on it! We don’t want to lose him here because he has done so much good and will do more.

However, he really could make a difference as President and we want him to run for that too...

There is a bill before the legislature that would let him do both and I think it’s expected to pass.

We have some RINO and Dem strongholds here who hate him.

The RINO mayor of Jacksonville, who is not running again, was a disaster and opposed all of DeSantis’ opening up Florida.

The corrupt Dem cities of South Florida also opposed him, particularly with his opposition to transgenders and porn in the schools (shows you what’s important to the Dems) but since about 50% of their corrupt politicians seem to be on their way to jail, I don’t think there’s much to worry about.

He would be a great President. Not flamboyant, not about him, but somebody who gets stuff done. And that’s what we need now.

It’s “sleaze”.
You don’t speak for the “good people of Fla.”—you only speak for yourself.
If it is state law in Fla then he needs to abide by it or he’s lawless.
Other states may have different laws.
Any laws that allow a sitting politician to run and not do their job is a bad law/bad practice. I don’t like it and it is off-putting when these politicians do it. We are suckers to allow them to.
You are fine with bending the rules for your precious Ron, but all the “good people of America” know you wouldn’t say the same for another politician.

The anti DeSantis crowds seem to be getting more desperate.

They seem very concerned.

Sure I would.

The nomination is owed to no candidate, they must earn it.

I want a large, robust number of GOP primary candidates and robust debates to let them tell us what are their views, plans, and philosophies. This is democracy, in the real sense.

BTW, I don't have a "bromance" with any candidate, even RDS (who I support currently, but I could change if any GOPer shows him up before the primaries.)

My objective is for the best AND most electable GOP candidate to win the nomination, and then the POTUS.

I'll criticize candidates (and potentials) who I feel deserve it, but I won't verbally potty on my fellow Conservative voters. We are on the same team, we just don't agree on who should be our quarterback.

You honestly think you speak for any or all Floridians? You certainly don’t speak for me. Seriously, where do you freaks come from?

You’ve certainly lapped up all the gruel that Trump has been throwing your way.

You mean like this from about four days ago? I’m sure you already saw this and you’re just choosing to ignore it.

“Any laws that allow a sitting politician to run and not do their job is a bad law/bad practice.”

But the law as it exists today doesn’t prevent him from running while he’s still governor. It only says that running requires the submission of a non-retractable resignation that takes effect on the day that the term of the office he’s seeking would start, meaning the law clearly allows him to run and continue to serve as governor. The only impact it would have is if he were to lose the presidential race. So your concern expressed here is based on a faulty premise.

So what did DeSantis have to say about the Florida Republicans putting forth regulations requiring bloggers to register with their state and disclose their personal financial dealings?

He has addressed it, and has this to say about it:  “That’s not anything I’ve ever supported, I don’t support,”

He has not been as clear about where he stands re: the neocon foreign policy issues, in stark contract to Trump, but that's a separate question.

It’s referred to as Resign to run, and the Legislature is about to repeal it.

I voted for DeSantis for governor. If he runs for POTUS, I will not vote for him. He will have violated my trust.

What you’re saying is that the legislature is changing the law for the convenience of one specific politician.

I’ll take your word for it—I don’t know the details. I had read he was trying to get the law changed so he could run, otherwise he would have o resign to run. That is why I thought he was waiting to jump into the race. We’ll see what happens.

Reminds me of Bill Clinton who got the the Arkansas legislature to change the Gov term from 2 to 4 years so when he ran in 1988 (planned to but bimbos were in the way) and didn’t win he’d still have a job.

Hmmm......seems pretty clear:

No person may qualify as a candidate for more than one public office, whether federal, state, district, county, or municipal, if the terms or any part thereof run concurrently with each other.

(4)(a) Any officer who qualifies for federal public office must resign from the office he or she presently holds if the terms, or any part thereof, run concurrently with each other.
(b) The resignation is irrevocable.
(c) The resignation must be submitted at least 10 days before the first day of qualifying for the office he or she intends to seek.
(d) The written resignation must be effective no later than the earlier of the following dates:
1. The date the officer would take office, if elected; or
2. The date the officer’s successor is required to take office.
(e)1. An elected district, county, or municipal officer shall submit his or her resignation to the officer before whom he or she qualified for the office he or she holds, with a copy to the Governor and the Department of State.
