That sounds about right. The Soviets took enormous casualties during WWII so I think that may have influenced the Politburo to be cautious. Until Putin. He was born after WWII. So he is repeating the mistakes of his precessors by using Russian grunts as cannon fodder in his war of conquest right now.
You can feel free to claim anything you want. After a year of listening to similar claims, I’ve learned to dismiss them all. I regularly read Tass and similarly dismiss their claims. I will tell you that Tass’ claims have proven to be true more often than any western outlet I’ve seen, Tucker Carlson being the exception (not FOX, though). You are correct in that the Russians have had to fight relatively few times since WWII and always on or within their borders. Contrast that to the US losing a hundred thousand boys and seeing 2.5 million locals killed on average 8000 miles from America in our post WWII history. To me it’s not a numbers war. To me, every kid killed, Russian or Uke is a tragedy and is totally unnecessary. I have no idea how many have died. I pray you and everyone else are overestimating wildly on both sides.
Next week: “More Russian soldiers have died fighting in the Ukraine then died in all of WWI and WWII, it is estimated that if the war continues the Russian population will be reduced to that of Rhode Island!!”
Of course it bothers the Russian people. The same as it bothers the Ukrainian people. Russia never had a society wide, coordinated USA, USA, USA lie campaign to pump up hatred and war hysteria like America’s Russia, Russia, Russia destabilizing lie offensive. After watching NATO supply the arms killing their young boys, you don’t have to show the grieving mothers pics of the corpses. Rest assured, it is not lying disinfo like Russia, Russia, Russia that has stoked the hatred of America. It is the fact that America is responsible for the killing of thousands of Russian boys. If Putin is ever deposed it will be because the people of Russia want a stronger leader to deal with America, whatever it takes.

The US had to develop sea power and air power to win WWII. Russia was all land based. Their war was railroads and trucks, and they’ve never really gone beyond that to any extent. Other than their submarines and strategic rocket forces they have no power projection.
