January 6 Committee Chairman Bennie Thompson Denies Deceptively Editing Footage

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MI) has denied ever deceptively editing video while serving as chairman for the January 6 Select Committee.

Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Monday released new, unseen footage from the Capitol Hill riot that unfolded on January 6, 2021, which appeared to portray a different picture than the one that former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) painted.

Throughout his segment, footage showed scenes that ran contrary to some of the narratives put forth by the January 6 committee by claiming rioters had participated in an “insurrection.”

Bennie Thompson is a long time election denier, including the 2004 election. Liz Cheney served on this committee with someone as Chairman who denied the legitimacy of her own father’s election of 2004 - and to my knowledge no reporter ever confronted her on this and made her answer for that - obviously - glaring issue.

Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-MI) told the truth. He never edited the video. I don't think he has the skill to do so. Instead, the task was done by the hired producer, who does video editing (or directs video editing) as part of his daily job.

Now, the question of whether he knew the footage was edited is another matter. If he was paying attention.

And where did this crime occur? Why in the District of Columbia! So who is going to prosecute them and what jury will convict them? Illegal actions by democrats or democrat-led institutions will never be prosecuted.

Minor or non-existent offenses by Republicans, conservatives and/or Trump supporters will be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible.

This is where we find ourselves in 2023.

And it’s not like this didn’t come up before with known pieces of video, and even Trump speeches they played. That they were doing it was clear all along and a significant part of why people simply dismissed it. If they were going to do it, they clearly weren’t going to admit it...but people will side with him.
