as of 8th March, the Russian (at one point thought the 2nd most powerful military in the world) has not yet captured Bakhmut despite trying for the past 7 months

I don't claim to be a strategic military genius but the battle for Bakhkmut is starting to look like an Ukrainian version of the "Falaise Pocket." The Ukrainians better hope they don't end up like the Germans.
