Wrong. Students have no right to privacy from their parents. And schools have no right to keep anything private from parents either.

I note also, that I have seen situations where the staff at
a middle-school was keeping very dangerous information away
from parents of a 13 year old child.
They knew that child was having sex with adults, and did
not inform the parents or the police.
I had a teacher in fifth grade who hated men and would mark every answer wrong on tests FULL of red ink, BUT, You could NEVER take a test paper home, that would blow her cover. She would berate the boys, including me, in the classroom, she would smack boys on the head with her “diamond ring” and other abuses. This was in 1963. I have her obituary in a scrapbook.
