Former Arizona GOP gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake won a straw poll for the Republican vice presidential pick during the Conservative Action Political Conference (CPAC) this weekend.
Among a field of 28 candidates, Lake won the poll with 20 percent of the vote, beating former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. DeSantis received 14 percent of the vote, and Haley, who announced her bid for the White House last month, won 10 percent.
Lake, who was also a featured speaker at CPAC’s Ronald Reagan Dinner over the weekend, has refused to accept her loss in the governor’s race last November and is challenging the election results in court.
Her official campaign Twitter account responded to the CPAC straw poll results by suggesting she’d be unable to serve in the role.
How could the way we eat contribute to global warming? “We’re flattered, but unfortunately our legal team says the Constitution won’t allow for her to serve as Governor and VP at the same time,” it said.
Former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy, who has declared his campaign for the presidency, each received six percent of the vote.

Former President Trump easily won the CPAC straw poll for the presidency with 62 percent of the vote, while DeSantis came in second-place with 20 percent of the vote.

Ron may decide to never run after this CPAC poll, but probably will.
Wow, another Stacy Abrams wanna be. Sorry, she needs to get some experience, win an election. She’s not qualified to be VP or president at the moment.
While I like Kari Lake, you are right on this.
Shouldn’t she learn how to win the governor’s race before she moves on to bigger things?
Straw polls are worthless.
Seems to be a lot of Kamala Harris fans here today.
Stacy Abrams wannabe?!?!?!?!?!?
Are you deaf, dumb and STUPID?????
You are all missing what the primary reason for this thread is....it’s for the poster to attack Ron DeSantis......yet again.
If you read comment #1 and take note of everything else he posts over and over day in and day out ad nauseam it should make it abundantly clear.
Trump is arguably one of the best Presidents in U.S. history if not the best considering the epic corruption now in government. Trump never held office, and still blew a dozen+ professional career politicians off the stage.
Pay attention.
No token hunting
Correction comment #2
Oh really, that dildo said Lake was a Stacy Abrams wanna be and you agree. Lake is worth a hundred Stacy Abrams.
Then again, we have a current vice president whose only skill set seems to be Willie Brown's pistol holder. And a previous president who, prior to occupying office, was a "community organizer".
So I guess it depends what standard one wants to follow.
Just like when Ron Paul always won straw polls back in the day. He never went anywhere beyond that.
She did win the governor’s race, just as DJT won for the second time in 2020.
Kari is the best MAGA VP candidate by far.
Tim Kaine fans too, and D!ick Cheney fans. One other guy too...
“Sorry, she needs to get some experience, win an election. She’s not qualified to be VP or president at the moment.”
Remember that guy that got elected President in 2016?
Sorry, she needs to get some experience, win an election. She’s not qualified to be VP or president at the moment.

Really? Well since you obviously claim to be quite knowledgeable about the required “qualifications” explain to us exactly what they are and WHY she’s not qualified. And try to avoid posting childish comments like “Sorry”!
Why not?...was Trump qualified> you want more “professional politicians” full time swamp dwellers..right?
Have you ever read the Constitution or the federalist papers??
