I guess the Des will have to hang out their shingle for a new Senator.
I got shingles, and recognized it right away.
I went right to the doctor and they face me medicine
Told me because I got right to the doctor, medicine would curmre it
Very uncomfortable but bearable
Cleared up in 2 weeks or so
One had it on one side of my scalp.
Strange thing about it, it only hits one side of your body
When I got the Dr office, I said look at this I think I have shingles
He said, yes you do
Turn off the TV. No one is forcing you to watch any thing
Usually shingles is an easy diagnosis: chickenpox virus parties in one of an interesting set of one sided patterns, defined by our nerve root patterns. Often with pain as the starting nerve root complains about it. But there are a variety ways it can be sneaky. It is usually cleared by the immune system In perhaps a week, and leaves a mess that takes about a month to heal. Antivirals clear the virus sooner and thus reduce the eventual mess, but do nothing after the virus is gone. So early diagnosis and treatment work best. The vaccine is essentially a booster shot for your childhood (natural or vaccine induced) chickenpox immunity. It clearly helps younger old folks, but for 89 y/o DiFi it’s likely marginal.
Yall sound like a glutten for punishment. Stay away from all those shots.
Now Feinstein AND Fetterman can no longer cast votes in the Senate.
I am currently overcoming a nasty case of shingles.
It wiped out my trigeminal nerve. First diagnosed last Memorial day.
Living on Gabapenten and Tylenol.
I had a shingles shot maybe 13 years ago, the original, not the latest vaccine. I suspect the Covid shots nullified the shingles shots, but no proof or evidence.
If you are over 50, by all means get the new vaccine. Shingles is horrible.
I am no fan of DiFi, but I will pray for her recovery from this terrible disease.
RE: Turn of the TV. No one is forcing you to watch it. (about annoying drug side effects scare ads).
“I find television to be quite educational. Whenever someone turns on the TV I go into another room and read a book.”
-——Groucho Marx
I never used to watch from around 1990 or so except for baseball games mostly. Would read instead. I missed the catch phrases people would say (even “a good thing” meaning Martha Stewart. People would tutor me “that’s from the X ads.”)
Now that my dear wife died a year ago February 26th, the silence in the place without her just being there reading near me is crushing. I’ve improved in this year of grief but still want at least the dvds along with all the crime shows I never ever watched for even one episode (Law & Order & offshoots,Criminal Minds, NCIS ones and Bones.)
Best may be L&O:Criminal Intent with Vincent D’Onofrio-—who collapsed from exhaustion on the set four times but came back. His frequent substitute, the excellent Chris Noth, was removed from the show due to allegations of sexual advances to women during the filming. Two women at his restaurant made accusations later and enlisted feminist hero Gloria Allred as counsel in front of TV cameras on the news. Then his girl friend accused him of threatening to kill her. Really controversial life for someone so likable on a fictional show.
Hate the PC woke snarky remarks (these creeps think it’s okay now to say the hate out loud for the past four years-—meaning Trump.)
Shingles. It’s painful. Enough said.
