That said, as for Gisele herself, I pegged her as a foreign parasite grifter from day one. What a scum bag. Instead of rushing to her husband's bedside as most wives do, she got as far away as she could—to another country.
For a self-styled "glamour girl" like herself, living out her life in a rundown impoverished 70% black decaying rust belt mill town isn't so glamorous.
Maybe she knows something we don't. Maybe Fester's prognoses is hopeless.

Consider: “night” and “evening” are pretty much synonyms and can be used interchangeably everywhere—except as a greeting. No native speaker of English, including Fetterman, would ever use “Good night” as a greeting, only as a farewell. The fact that he no longer ‘knows’ this, means that part of his brain is gone.
His saying that people talking to him sound like “adults in the Peanuts movies” means that he can hear what people say, but his brain no longer is processing what they say into meaningful words.
It must be comforting to him to know that upon his hospitalization, his wife has left the country with his kids. Bound to cheer a depressed man up.

The grandparents live in the same state in York, PA. That's about 200 miles, maybe a 3½ hour drive. And the grandparents are only 90 miles from Fetterman's bedside too.
It all doesn't make sense. Grandparents are always super protective of their grandchildren too. They would not put up with any media nonsense.
