I think the author got something wrong.
I think he meant the S&P could fall to 3000, not fall 3000 points. That would be S&P 1,000. That would be a Depression.
Excellent post, but not for me - I can smell them, and kmow who they are the moment they start typing here on FR... which is loaded with them.
Yep - couldn’t afford another hit when we retired so I put my stuff in plans that have a guaranteed return and which won’t lose a penny even if the market tanks.
Smaller returns but the security seems to be a good choice right now.
Under British rule it was the most prosperous nation in Africa as was South Africa years ago. Rhodesia is now a financial, social, corrupt, economic, disaster. That is what Marxism did. South Africa is on the same path. It will not end well.
It’s terrible that we have to protect ourselves from our own leaders. Disgusting people that only look out for themselves and their chosen winners. Most of us end up losing. I pray we can get our house paid off soon and can afford to retire when I want to.
Who knows where it all goes? There are just about as many so called experts who say 20% up as there are who say 26% down. The fundamentals suggest doldrums but what do I or anyone know? They have supposedly had the higher interest rates baked in for a year and yet they, the market, run from one side of the boat to the other nearly each day if not every week with some new glee or disaster in their sights.
Cramer, another “expert”, gave us his six obvious points on what will turn the market. He is also the man whose Club Portfolio has done less than half as well in 21 years than just buying the S&P and letting it ride. In fact, hardly any money manager ever beats the segment index he is up against except for the Dow which is not a real index. Hard for me to hitch a wagon to such as these.
I am shocked and dismayed thought that I nor many others saw how artificial, bc of all the stimulus pumped into the economy, the rocket of ‘21 was and did not take all the profit they could at the end of that year. Some did, but not many. There have been other such years but not very often.
With the Fed closing their balance sheet built up over 13 years in just 3 years with two more to go I don’t see anything good coming in that time.
I keep trying to comfort myself by saying I have laid in for another 4 year’s siege but watching the market writhe like a snake stuck in tar is like balancing on the edge of a cliff.

There is a Cramer Contrarian club that does just that, the opposite of his recommendations. They have consistently beaten him.
Everybody advising in the trading game is selling something. They seem to all have some kind of bias or vested interest. At tleast the ones I see do.
43% is a lot. I don’t take that kind of risk for uncle sugar to get that kind of ride. A lot will tell you profit is the name of the game and not to pay attention to taxes. When they ride my gains but limit the “benefits” of my losses it just doesn’t taste right. To each his own of course.
My risk is generally short term...thus ST gains...and losses.

Donald Trump can be thought of as a Great Warrior of Christ and Protector of the Jewish People. Some who write of the moral order write that President Trump in 2016 signaled the beginning of the end of the NWO and their banking control.
We might think Donald Trump’s purpose in 2024 and continuing through 2028 is to lead Americans to follow The Truth and Light of Christ and defeat the NWO.

I spent 42 years in commercial banking. Lost my last job in a merger. I wouldn’t go back as the industry has gone to the devil. The scandals at Wells Fargo and Bank of America are a failure of leadership. The average bank employee is just a pawn.
