The situation is ripe for surprises in all directions.

I have this image of drone swarms just overwhelming sensors on our weapons. Flying - exploding spray cans of paint would really mess up optics. Dangling wires like Portugese-man-of-war drones could short out power lines.

For Naval warfare these would have to be very long range, pretty fast drones. Which would make them pretty big, which would make them detectable and targetable at range. Drones don’t repeal physics.

This is one reason the old German Gepard AA vehicle is useful again, because it’s radar can target the long range Iranian drones.
