It’s a lesson in bigotry no one should have to learn as a child, but parents of several [black] sixth graders at Pepper Tree Elementary in Upland said their kids have been the targets of racial bullying. They told FOX 11 a group of five or six schoolmates handed out handwritten and hand-drawn cards calling them "my favorite monkey," or in one case a "cotton picker" and promising "the group" would be nice to them for Black History Month.

And in California--San Bernardino county near Los Angeles?
Hmm.
Sigh...
It’s amazing how many of these cases turn out to be hoaxes, probably also true of this one...
Six graders = very bad boys. You’re just starting to turn into an adult, and the early stages are not pleasant.
So who are the black kids sending the cards?
Jessie smallett bored was he?
The crt tree has bore its poison fruit I see.
For all such stories, my default these days is to believe that it’s a hoax perpetrated by members of the group claiming to be victimized. That’s been the consistent pattern for years now. There seems to be a lot more demand for racism than actual supply.
Making enemies by the classroom full and it will come back to bite them
bttt
From what I understand, Upland is a white-minority area. Latinos are the largest racial group and there are a fair number of Asians too. If this was not a hoax, I wonder whether it was white kids doing this or Latino kids.
Sounds like just another hoax.
BTW: The answers are, 1. a, 2. c, 3. a, 4. b, 5. a, 6. c, 7. c 8. d, 9. a, 10. c.
“ So who are the black kids sending the cards?”
********************************************
Why would the article writers want to tell you that and RUIN ALL THE FUN… particularly if the kids sent the cards to themselves.
I’m sure the black students did nothing to foment this reaction by the others. /s
I usually got in trouble in elementary school when we had to author those stupid Valentine’s Day cards. My most famous one to a girl went, “Roses are red, violets are black, you’d look great with a knife in your back”.
They would have mentioned the race if the students had been white, so I’m betting they were Hispanic. The school is 62% minority.
Man, how I hated Valentine’s Day when I was in elementary school. What a beating.
