But 17 months after the attempted insurrection, a significant number of rioters are still awaiting their sentencing.
Only around a quarter of those arrested—185 individuals—have received criminal sentences, while the rest are waiting for their trials or haven’t yet reached plea agreements. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, 80 defendants were sentenced to periods of incarceration, with longer prison terms for those who engaged in violence or threats. So far, the median prison sentence for the Jan. 6 rioters is 45 days. An additional 57 rioters have been sentenced to periods of home detention, while most sentences have included fines, community service and probation for low-level offenses like illegally parading or demonstrating in the Capitol, which is a misdemeanor.

In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury of the state and district wherein the crime shall have been committed, which district shall have been previously ascertained by law, and to be informed of the nature and cause of the accusation; to be confronted with the witnesses against him; to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor, and to have the assistance of counsel for his defense.

It really sounds like they January 6ers are being held without being convicted. Illegal aliens are released on personal recognizance, but not these US citizens?

Only in lalaleftistworld can walking calmly into a building where the doors are unlocked and open be called “storming”. Not to mention the building in question doesn’t BELONG to the government...it belongs to the TAXPAYERS! Ever wonder why the founders wrote the second amendment? It was to make sure that “Govermment” would serve the People...OR ELSE! Pretty simple.
What happened? They were abandoned by patriots in this country who have no problem letting someone else rot so long as it doesn’t directly impact their own lives.
There were no insurrectionists because there was no insurrection.

but you are right- the vast majority were simply protesting- just like code pink protested- only they didnt get accused of rioting or insurrection- and no charges were ever filed apaprently0-
In my opinion the FBI agents associated with this atrocity should be horse whipped and left in jail for two years, like they did to those American citizens who suffered with their barbaric imprisonment.
