For the last four years at her Christian college, Gracie Turner had been keeping a secret.
She had lost her faith.
In high school, she watched cancer ravage her great-grandmother. Then she saw her family fall apart. One fight drove her to call the police on a relative.
“I just remember thinking, why is this happening? How could this happen? And my first thought, or first person to blame was God,” Turner, a 21-year-old film major, told me. “I would lay in bed sometimes and just pray to God, like, it would be really nice if I didn’t wake up tomorrow.”
When she got to Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky, she was required to go to chapel three times a week for college credit. But she never believed God would fix anything, since life only seemed to be getting harder between the anxiety, depression, and recent back injury that brought her to a “breaking point.”

They like to hire many Mormons for some reason as do many of the intelligence agencies as most Mormon job candidates seem able to pass lie detector tests. Most people who often fail federal lie detector tests do so because they are honest. “Have you ever stolen anything in your life” “Yes”...instant fail.
Not specifically. I know very little. Just to note that faculty (and adults in general) are typically impervious to Dionysian movements.

My favorite lie detector story(and true as far I can verify it, knowing the nurse personally) involved a husband of said nurse who was going for a federal job in a field he was good at. Part of the hiring process was to be able to pass a lie detector test. He faced an African American technician who was asking the questions and operating the machine and did the final analysis. The usual questions ran well but the tech added one question of his own...”Are you a racist?”(the job applicant was white) Thinking quickly on his feet the job applicant said ...”Oh hell yeah!: despite the question not being on the standard list and despite the fact that the applicant didn’t have a racist bone in his body according to his wife. The technician passed the applicant who then asked him....”So what if I had said no I wasn’t a racist and the machine showed that I was telling the truth?” The tech said he still would have failed him because he just knew “that all white people were racists and couldn’t let any white person through who had somehow cheated the test!”!!!!
That’s when I knew that the whole racism /woke crap was a whole bunch of gaslighting hooey that can go to the Blazes as far as I’m concerned...and Lie detector tests can go there too!
Yes,I agree. That book is the best,,,really amazing what the Lord did through that group of intercessors.
