“”In August 2015, Carter had a small cancerous mass removed from his liver. The following year, Carter announced that he needed no further treatment, as an experimental drug had eliminated any sign of cancer.””

Has he been receiving treatment all this time? He wouldn’t have hospice care just because he’s old. That’s for someone who has 6 months or less to live with a terminal disease. Elimination of any sign of cancer would seem to be a contradiction.

I always thought he was an antisemite. Maybe it was he just didn’t support Israel.

He had a mean streak toward conservative republicans.

About three years ago, Mr. Carter was camped out at death’s doorway: One Way passport in hand, then he was revived. We will see what happens.
I did notice he had not issued any statements about public events in quite some time.

“Maybe it’s payback for giving away the Panama Canal to the Chinese.”

Maybe it’s payback for being 98 years old.

“”I always thought he was an antisemite.””

I believe he was. I had a family member tell me that wasn’t true - he just didn’t like Bibi.... I never changed my mind about him.

“…nothing like modern “progressive Democrats” AOC, Bernie Sanders, etc.”

He was the predecessor to them possessed of their central flaw: he was an absolute ideologue in that when he implemented his fixes and they failed miserably he couldn’t change course. He couldn’t be wrong…just like these psycho monsters today. He blamed America and her malaise.

Biden isn’t worthy to shine Jimmy Carter’s shoes, and I am no Carter fan.

Mr. Carter was an absolutely horrendous president.

Which is no different than his successors, with the exception of Reagan and Trump.

BTW, I believe we were told at the time of the announcement about his cancer treatment that it was something that came from Israel.

“He wouldn’t have hospice care just because he’s old.”

My 96 year-old mother is receiving hospice care for no other reason than her age-related infirmities.

Peanut farmer to President to humanitarian.

I was a young teenager during his Presidency. I vote Reagan for my first time voting.

Always felt sorry for him, not being able to really rise to the events of his time. But, his gentle spirit aged well.
