Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell told FOX News ahead of his trip to the Munich Security Conference that supporting Ukraine in the war against Russia is "the single most important event going on in the world right now."
"I'm sorry public opinion is sliding, but I want to reassure the American people, this is enormously important," McConnell told FNC's Dana Perino. "We need to stay together on a bipartisan basis in our country and defend these people who are bravely fighting for freedom and for democracy in Ukraine."

WHY is this so important? Yes, it’s wrong that Putin invaded Ukraine but part of that was because Biden threatened Putin to extend NATO.
I’m ready to accept that NATO needs to be expanded but that has NEVER been communicated to US, your bosses. Nor have you or Biden properly explained why we can deplete our armed reserves and treasury to the point where we’re almost defenseless as justification to “save” Ukraine.
In fact, no rationale for this conflict has ever been presented to US other than - just believe me when we tell you this is good.
This is NOT how a free nation works.
But if you were to try to destroy a nation from the inside - this is a pretty good way to do it.
I fail to see how the border is not the most important thing right now.
Ukraine could have been avoided in 2015.

I don’t understand the logical disconnect. In a nuclear war everybody loses bigly. Even the Ukranians. Any peeps who survive the initial blast will suffer way more than the ones who are wiped out almost instantaneously by the blast.
Just like the Afghan war against Russians was so vitally important?

I think that Mitch McConnel has his and most importantly our countries priorities all wrong.
We cannot defend Ukraine when we cannot financially build a strong economy.This country is as close to being insolvent as it ever has and the Biden administration is not trying to make it any better.
I’m not anti-Ukraine,but our country cannot afford to be sending Hundreds of Billions of Dollars their when our own nation is turning into a third world septic tank.
Its time to return to America First above all else. once we get back on our economic feet then we can deal with the rest of the worlds issues.
People in countries the world over want to ‘be free’ and would be thrilled to have billions of dollars belonging to American taxpayers to accomplish their goal.
The difference?
Very few of them are used as ‘banks’ to launder the money of the worlds’ corrupt ‘elites’. George Soros supports this war. The Big Guy and his whore monger drug addicted son support this war. John Kerry and Al Gore support this war... BUT NOT MANY PEOPLE LIVING IN TRAIN WRECKED CITIES THAT CAN’T GET BASIC HELP.
Wants are unlimited. Resources are scarce.
Ukraine’s not the hill I want our country to die or... or go broke on. If we had tons of money or the best military leaders OR if it really was a democracy AND we were rich rather than broke - then THEN it might be worth it.
Buy it’s not and we’re not and we have to have the means to defend ourselves against China if necessary.
This nation is in an economic, cultural, moral, educational, tailspin right now and that should take 100% of government’s energy - period!!!! Turn the Ukraine war over to the European Union.
Since Ukraine is nothing more than a Money Laundering Scheme, yeah.

I can’t imagine why Mitch McConnell is the most unpopular member of Congress. He obviously has his 82-year-old greedy claws right on the pulse of the American public
