Takeaway from the video:
The government doesn't know what we're dealing with at this time
These objects are not new. They've been around a long time, at least since 2017 ("last week we were told 2019").
Here's a quote from transcript at the 4:14 mark at youtube:
"What I took away from from the briefing today more than so than the briefing last week is that this has been going on for a long, long time, at at least 2017 and last week we were told 2019, um, that's what I took away from today. Thanks guys appreciate it...LOCK YOUR DOORS TONIGHT.""We have unity and confusion, yeah, lock your doors."
Which is quite strange given his comment.
If you read the literature on this topic (which most folks around here apparently have not bothered to do) you will find that the most successful method for dealing with the alien critters is a couple of dogs.
They really really don’t like dogs.
I think plenty of us have read ‘the literature’. In fact, I suspect that the percentage here who have been interested in the subject is higher than in the ‘general population’.
Many of us just don’t interpret ‘the literature’ the same way that you do - or have the same opinion.
When I post on this topic I do not just give an opinion.
I give specific references.
If you choose not to believe those references that is your right.
There are lots of ‘references’ I take as interesting, but never conclusive; and a lot I don’t believe at all.
I know there is a LOT of mindless assumption and even downright trickery in this subject; and a lot of money and other benefits in promoting it - traditionally in publishing, and now even more on the Internet.
And even when people are not ‘on the make’, a lot of them are very credulous.
Folks do not get rich on the UFO subject—if you have met many of the “players” and actually talked to them you would know that.
Almost all researchers do so on a shoestring and pursue the topic because of a passion for it.
Even the frauds and fakers don’t make much money.
;-)
A lot of the people who write books and get involved in videos and films certainly DO make money - along with other ‘residual benefits’ that they receive.
You said that when you post on a topic, you don’t just give an opinion – you cite references.
But you are obviously giving opinions on what you’ve merely read. (You’ve admitted that you’ve never seen a UFO yourself; so you’re basing your opinions on stuff you’ve never seen, only read, and can’t prove.)
I try to judge information on what I perceive as the level of intellectual discrimination of the person from whom it comes.
There are a lot of claims and ‘information’ out there that come from pretty spurious and untrustworthy sources; and there’s a lot of speculative thought coming from people who seem to be worthy of attention.
I have to make choices between those.
Box checked and I have a case of bug spray
