Signs of unrest surfaced almost immediately after the team's 38-35 defeat Sunday night - with disgruntled fans swarming City Hall and clashing with cops that had been stationed throughout the city in case of such an outcome.
Police scanner audio since 10:30pm suggested police had made multiple arrests, as citizens were seen scaling lampposts, chanting 'f*** the Chiefs', and hurling glass bottles throughout the city's Downtown neighborhood.
Footage circulating on social media also shows several residents lighting fireworks, with others egging on armed SWAT teams tasked with keeping the piece.
In one shocking clip, a group of Philadelphians are seen lighting fireworks, with some reports indicating the explosives are being thrown at officers.
Cops were using tear gas to deter any further disruptions, after a crushing defeat highlighted by game-altering penalties.
The loss is compounded by the fact the city's baseball team, the Phillies, similarly crashed out of the World Series just a few months ago.

Pass interference should not be called on an uncatchable ball — but the call last night was for defensive holding, not pass interference. It’s a different penalty.
keeping the piece
Nice....
keeping the piece
Nice....
I cannot stand Philly, but the Ref should have been the MVP.
It was the right call. Obviously defensive holding.
There would have been riots in the streets of Philthadelphia even if Da Iggles had won.
Let's riot!
IT was ticky tacky BS after letting them play the entire game. I grew up a Chiefs fan and that call ruined an otherwise great game. I will agree that the refs were even worse in the Bengals-Chiefs game. Oh well....I pull for no one and only pull for Ex-Bama players in that woke-ass league.
Even this Chiefs fan agrees - flag should have stayed in the pocket on that play.
Given the way the Eagles fans behaved after the game, I don't feel their pain on the bad call. Also, Brandon and his wife are Eagles fans, so there's also that.
My though too.
Even if the receiver wasnt touched he never would have caught the pass
I read that the Eagle player charged with the holding foul said after the game that, “yeh, it was holding but he thought he might get away with it.”
Philthydelphia - City of Brotherly Hate!
I specifically looked this up this morning and could only find the pregame warm-up.

Philadelphia sports fans can always be counted on to “keep it classy” /s
It was a questionable call, and I don’t think the hold prevented the receiver from running his route. And without a doubt, the call enabled the Chiefs to run the clock down so much that the Eagles had no time to respond. Still, it’s tough to win any game when you give up 38 points.
We play the game until KC wins! Hey we get six more months of Gracie Hunt showing her stuff!
I viewed the game as a contest between a Red State and a Blue State.
Sorry.
I rooted for the Chiefs.
The refs tried to give the game to the Eagles with a couple of bad reception calls - kinda like a stolen election — but in the end the Red State won.
Now, we see the reaction of the Blue State fans (bitter losers) - behaving the same way they did when Trump was elected in 2016.
These losers would have demonstrated, rioted, looted, and burned (in that order) whether they had won or lost.
I am not a football fan.
I did love the rendition of our National Anthem. And I loved the Johnny Cash “Ragged Old Flag” video.
My 2-cents.
That would make as much sense as most of her pronouncements.
