The on-air audience for the State of the Union address fell considerably from a year ago.
President Joe Biden’s second State of the Union averaged 24.17 million viewers across the four main broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC) and three largest cable news channels (CNN, Fox News and MSNBC). That’s down by about 29 percent from 33.83 million who watched the State of the Union on those seven outlets in 2022.
The 2022 State of the Union, the first official one of Biden’s term, brought in 38.2 million viewers across 16 outlets.
Fox News had the largest for the speech with just under 4.7 million viewers, beating out ABC’s 4.41 million for the top spot. NBC finished third with 3.78 million viewers, followed by CBS (3.64 million), MSNBC (3.57 million), CNN (2.41 million) and the Fox broadcast network (1.66 million). Spanish language broadcasters Univision (1.08 million) and Telemundo (836,000) added about 1.9 million viewers to the total.

Do they count the viewers thru OANN and from DJT’s blow-by-blow narration?
If not, that is where they all went.
CNN’s 100’s of viewers loved it. Nobody else watched.

I was binge watching an old SF series “Andromeda”, starring Kevin Sorbo, during that time period.
Did not have to suspend belief nearly as much.

If I wanted to be talked down to and patronized, I would watch broadcast network shows from recent seasons.
Outside of our bubble the garbage vendor “Drudge Report” had a headline that 72 percent approved of Biden’s speech. Quoted CNN (must be true/S)
To me that’s like “Americans decide to surrender to become province of China.”
Unacceptable, American people.
I watched “Bringing Up Baby with Katherine Hepburn, Cary Grant and Charlie Ruggles. Silly movie but Kate was ravishing in it.
So 9 million wised up.
But 24 million plus still sounds like far too many.
I watched “Fauna of the Seychelle Islands.” Again.
Of course, they will never look at how many watched on streaming services or social apps. They only want to cover the Dinosaur Media.
It is difficult to connect with someone who insults and derides us and then wants unity from us.
There is little Biden has done that shows any real interest in unity.
We’ll find out how many real viewers seen it after the birth rate in 9 months.
