The U.S. is considering a plan to shoot down the Chinese spy balloon once it crosses over the Atlantic Ocean, where it could fall without causing harm to anyone below and potentially be recovered, a senior U.S. official told Fox News.
President Biden addressed the balloon briefly Saturday in response to a reporter's question, saying, "we're going to take care of it."
This is a developing story and will be updated.

Bull shit. We ain’t shooting it down. Biden and half the pentagon is owned by the chicoms.
I wanna see that “.22”.
At that time the balloon was at ~ 60,000 ft.
Certainly the ChiComs would rather it ends up in the ocean.

Well that is the service they paid for.
LOL that posted aged like milk in about 30 seconds.
before the Chinese Communist Party pulls the plug ? LOL
It’s been shot and is falling now. I missed the shot AGAIN.
Shot down. But took them long enough. And after it went across the U.S.
I want the .22 that can hit a balloon at 50,000 to 60,000 ft.! /s
You can’t make this stuff up. What a bunch of morons.
Not to worry there’s a second balloon over Canada heading this way. 😣
M61 Vulcan autocannon used for the shoot down?
Here is live link from FoxNews, just pull back to 2:38pm ET and you'll see the missile streak and the blowout.
This is more appropriate for this clown show administration.
I am near Myrtle Beach. Chinese spy balloon was overhead for over an hour moving South. Watched a wonderful display of our fighter jets circling it. There were at least four of them. The airspace around Myrtle Beach and vicinities is closed.
Even if it could, it would do no damage.
We should riddle the balloon with just enough bullets to make it lose altitude till it crashes smoothly, not hurting anyone. And then we recover the Chinese tech. Could be interesting...
Surely we shouldn’t blow it up with a missile! Good old bullets are needed. We still have planes able to shoot bullets, I hope.
And then we recover the Chinese tech.
You mean our tech.
Where do you think they got it from?
Not reliable - last time the balloon remained aloft for days - what they do today may remain classified.
After it transmitted its data. Laugh.
