"China is a responsible country and has always strictly abided by international law. We do not accept any groundless speculation and hype," Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China said in a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken late Friday.
During the phone conversation, they communicated on how to deal with the incident in a calm and professional manner. Wang said in face of unexpected situations, both sides should maintain focus, communicate in a timely manner, avoid misjudgments, and manage differences.
Prior to Wang and Blinken's talk, State Department spokesman Ned Price said that Blinken has postponed his visit to China due to the balloon incident and Blinken would be prepared to visit Beijing "as soon as conditions allow."
Previous news on Blinken's visit to China on February 5 and 6 all came from the US. China has never confirmed the information.

It’s said to be at ~60k ft. Even at a 100k, the DoD has no problem tracking. And they have air-to-air and surface-to-air weapons that can take it down. My guess is they’ll pull the trigger once it’s over water.
Exactly. If this were a research project it would have been reported to the FAA NASA EASA NOAA and every other agency. Nations launch research balloons all the time. This was definitely meant to show just how weak and owned Biden is. They don’t need some high tech scheme to invade. They have Joe Biden, some balloons and an open border.

We just got a text from a friend that says two fighters are on the balloon near Myrtle Beach and it looks like the balloon is losing altitude. I guess its over the water.
I loved ‘The Prisoner’ as a kid. I watched any sci-fi I could find. The weird half explained, or less, nature of this show struck a nerve with me.
I actually still have an old ACE paperback of the prisoner that I read then trying to understand some of the show. The book was pretty good. It went into a bunch of details never mention in the show.
