Cementing what has been in the works for months, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley will formally announce she is running for president and will seek the Republican nomination for her party’s 2024 ticket, The Post and Courier has learned.

That’s a laugh. She won’t get more than 2% support in the primaries, if that.

She might be angling for vice president. It would be better if she was dragging a state that mattered along, not South Carolina.

The irony is, the more people run for the nomination, the better the odds for Trump. He is further ahead in polls of multiple candidates compared to 1:1 against DeSantis.
We’ve gone from Bill Haley and the Comets 70 years ago to Nikki Haley and the Vomits today IMHO.
She can’t possibly believe that she has any shot so the question is, what does she want.
Perhaps a TV gig.

Nikki Haley is a typical 14th Amendment Citizen, born on US soil to two foreign parents and is not eligible to be President.
According to her Wikipedia page: Haley's parents moved to Canada after her father received a scholarship offer from the University of British Columbia. When her father received his PhD degree in 1969, he moved his family to South Carolina, after accepting a position as a professor at Voorhees College, a historically black institution.[16] Nimrata Haley (née Randhawa, was born January 20, 1972),[1][2][3] known as Nikki Haley.
As per the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952 clearly states one has to be a resident on file for a 5 year waiting period before obtaining Naturalization status.
SEC. 316. [8 U.S.C. 1427]
(a) No person, except as otherwise provided in this title, shall be naturalized, unless such applicant, (1) immediately preceding the date of filing his application for naturalization has resided continuously, after being lawfully admitted for permanent residence, within the United States for at least five years and during the five years immediately preceding the date of filing his application has been physically present therein for periods totaling at least half of that time, and who has resided within the State or within the district of the Service in the United States in which the applicant filed the application for at least three months, (2) has resided continuously within the United States from the date of the application up to the time of admission to citizenship, (3) during all the periods referred to in this subsection has been and still is a person of good moral character, attached to the principles of the Constitution of the United States, and well disposed to the good order and happiness of the United States.
So it’s evident Haley’s parents weren’t U.S. citizens at her birth. Thus she is ineligible to the offices of president and vice-president. For both, the Constitution says one must be a “natural born citizen” of the United States, a deliberately higher standard than simple citizenship.
Prior to the 14th Amendment, this is the rule of law:
The Supreme Court in Inglis v. Trustees (1830) and Elk v. Wilkins (1884) ruled that a child born on U.S. soil, of a father who owes allegiance to a sovereignty other than the United States, is not a U.S. citizen at birth; and that the citizenship of such a child is that of its father, not its place of birth.
Nikki Haley would have been classified as a foreigner in 1830 and 1884, how can she now be a Natural Born Citizen in 2020?
Nikki Haley is by definition is a 14th Amendment Naturalized US citizen.
As stated in Minor vs. Happersett, by Bingham, Ramsey and in Vattel, to be a natural born citizen one needs to be born on US soil to TWO US CITIZEN PARENTS.
Remember, if it takes an act of Congress as the 14th clearly is, for one to be a citizen, then they are a naturalized citizen.
And in Luria v. United States, 231 U.S. 9 (1913), the Supreme Court said:“Citizenship is membership in a political society, and implies a duty of allegiance on the part of the member and a duty of protection on the part of the society. These are reciprocal obligations, one being a compensation for the other. Under our Constitution, a naturalized citizen stands on an equal footing with the native citizen in all respects save that of eligibility to the Presidency. Minor v. Happersett, 21 Wall. 162, 88 U. S. 165; Elk v. Wilkins, 112 U. S. 94, 112 U. S. 101; Osborn v. Bank of United States, 9 Wheat. 738, 22 U. S. 827.”

John Bingham, aka “father of the 14th Amendment”, was an abolitionist congressman from Ohio who prosecuted Lincoln’s assassins. Ten years earlier, he stated on the House floor: “All from other lands, who by the terms of [congressional] laws and a compliance with their provisions become naturalized, are adopted citizens of the United States; all other persons born within the Republic, of parents owing allegiance to no other sovereignty, are natural born citizens. Gentleman can find no exception to this statement touching natural-born citizens except what is said in the Constitution relating to Indians.” (Cong. Globe, 37th, 2nd Sess., 1639 (1862))

Section 1.
All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
The 14th Amendment makes people citizens it does not say anything about being natural born.
if she somehow wins the primary (LOLOL) she will end up with ZERO electoral votes from the southern states ... ZERO! She will turn the entire southeast to blue during that cycle.
According to this quote, sounds like she’s working with Trump to either become his running mate, or fracture the opposition votes against him, or both. Compare these comments to those from Trump regarding DeSantis:
On Saturday, during his first major campaign swing to New Hampshire and South Carolina, Trump took credit again for helping elevate DeSantis during his 2018 bid for governor, saying “Ron would have not been governor if it wasn’t for me.”
“So when I hear he might run, I consider that very disloyal,” Trump said.
While taking aim at DeSantis, Trump told reporters aboard his plane that Nikki Haley – who served as his ambassador to the United Nations – called him in recent days to inform him that she is considering launching a 2024 presidential bid.
“I talked to her for a little while, I said, ‘Look, you know, go by your heart if you want to run,’” Trump said. “She’s publicly said that ‘I would never run against my president, he was a great president.’”
Trump said he told Haley that she “should do it.”

I don't put past the GOPe to pull the same trick with Nimrata Haley.
