Tyre was resisting the officers from the start. He was very belligerent from the get go.

That said, a jury will decide if the officers acted outside of their department procedures regarding bringing a subject into compliance.

Exactly. At the same time cops did not need to hit the thin man so much. He was easy to subdue by 5 burly cops.

If five police officers can’t subdue one belligerent man without killing him, there is something very wrong with their training.

Why should their department procedures be the only standards they are judged by? Aren’t there any legal standards for police work? Can a police department have any standards it wants?
