Who will maintain them, train the crews, and provide logistics?
They can perhaps hire Taliban crews...
All good questions....
“Who will maintain them, train the crews, and provide logistics?”
US contractor (ex-military)
Bingo!! That the operative question. The Abrams is a world away from the Russian stuff the Ukies have been using. Back when Nixon first sent F4s to Israel the IDF sent its best pilots and crews to Lackland to learn the Phantom’s abilities and foibles. It still took 3 to 6 months to be combat ready. How long before the Abrams are combat ready and where will training happen and what about parts.
AWOL US tank crews.
The United States taxpayers
Who will maintain them, train the crews, and provide logistics?
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
did joey bags come up with this idea on his own???
MOS in track mechanic, tank crew & operator takes 12-15 weeks of advanced training.
how many qualified track trainers are running around in the Uke looking for a side gig these days?
Some "volunteers".
The US will train. Logistics is q short freight flight from bases all through Europe. Ukraine will maintain - if the Saudis can then it will be no problem for experienced UA tankers.
Heard (I think two weeks ago) that Ukrainian crews have been sent to US for training.
