Biden announces U.S. will send 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine

The decision to move forward with providing the tanks marks a reversal for the Biden administration, which had been resisting pressure from Germany to send them to Ukraine.

President Joe Biden on Wednesday announced that the United States is sending 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine in its war against Russia.

The U.S. will also provide the necessary training and supplies needed to operate and run these tanks, he said.

NBC News reported the development Tuesday.

The president said sending the tanks will "enhance Ukraine’s capacity to defend its territory and achieve its strategic objectives" because they are "the most capable tanks in the world.”

"That’s what this is about — helping Ukraine defend and protect Ukrainian land. It is not an offensive threat to Russia, there is no offensive threat to Russia," the president said.

During a background call previewing Biden’s remarks, senior administration officials said the announcement is “very much a continuation of our effort to provide Ukraine with the capabilities that they need to continue to better defend themselves.”

“And it’s also in keeping with that representative of a long term, long term commitment that we have to Ukraine’s defense needs,” a senior administration official said.

Maybe we’ll send some of those Abrams that are remote controlled...

Operate them from somewhere near the Maldives?

They'll let Joe do it from the basement of the White House.

"See you guys! I'm off to play Mario Kart with Zelenskyy!"

Between the humiliating debacle in Afghanistan and the military going woke nobody is volunteering.

God help us, they are going to bring back the draft before all is said and done.

The war actually started in 2014 when the US/NATO engineered coup of the duly elected government. Thus began the separatist movement in the Donbass and the uncontested Russian annexation of Crimea. Ukraine has been shelling the Donbas since 2014 killing over 13,000 people.

The Russian second invasion could have been avoided if Biden wanted a diplomatic solution. We had ample warning.

“You made me do it”: said every mass murdering Bolshevik and wife beater ever. I’m truly saddened to see great FReepers so duped by Kremlin gaslighting. We’re better than that.

Stop your lying.   You have seen the videos of three United States Senators John McCain, Lindsey Graham and Amy Klobuchar with President Poroshenko telling Azov Battalion soldiers when the fighting would begin.   They tell the troops it will be in 2017, but Hillary Clinton lost the Presidential election.   When President Trump came into the office of the Presidency, he put the kibosh on their plans.

They cheated in the election to keep President Trump from being re-elected and their evil plans were on again.   If you think President Putin didn't know of their plans, you're naïve.   You can see from this Zelenskyy was just the next dupe to become President of The Ukraine.

US Senators Visit Troops on Front Line in Eastern Ukraine 2016/12/31

While on a trip to Ukraine on December 30, GOP Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Amy Klobuchar denounced the alleged Russian hacking of Democratic Party email accounts in the run-up to the US presidential election.

Speaking to the US-funded Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Ukraine, the senators called for tougher sanctions against Russia in response to the allegations.

The senators traveled with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko to Shyrokyne, a Baltic sea village in Donetsk Oblast, south of Russian-backed, separatist-held Donetsk, for a photo opportunity with Ukrainian soldiers.

Both GOP senators have said they will work to impose even stronger sanctions against Russia, in contrast to President-elect Trump, who has said the US should ‘move on’ from the issue.

McCain and Graham were both vocal critics of Trump during the campaign, although McCain supported Trump until early October reports showed that Trump had made comments in which he boasted about sexually assaulting women.

Doomed to lose? How much do you want to bet?

All the annexed territory will remain a part of Russia and, if Ukraine survives as a nation, it will remain neutral by the end of all this. You're bat sh#t crazy if you've deluded yourself into thinking otherwise.

And, this war is completely the result of our meddling in Ukraine. We fomented an illegal coup that setoff a civil war. We trained and funded Ukrainian nationalists and neo-Nazis to persecuted and kill ethnic Russians in Donetsk and Lugansk. We encouraged Ukraine to reject the Minsk Agreement that would have brought peace to Ukraine and kept Donetsk and Lugansk a part of it. We armed Ukraine with offensive weapons and teased NATO membership for it knowing that was unacceptable to the Russians.

You and your ilk are an abomination to God. You've pushed Russia into an alliance with China and have us closer to nuclear war and WWIII than we were during the Cold War.

I’ve tried telling them, Kazan. They won’t hear it. Let the smoothebrains have their smoothebrain fantasies. Then they can have their smoothebrain hangover after Ukraine surrenders.

Interesting clip. A post of the old shot of four or five European Defense ministers (all women) who look like they should be staffing a salon juxtaposed against a Russian who looks the part would be appropriate.

No argument from me. All I really know is it has been in the works/planning for many years now. Looks like the plan (whatever it is) is about to be fully implemented. If it goes nuclear, and I have a feeling it will, there will be a lot less of us to get in their way.

The best thing the US can do to help Ukraine and choke out Russia is to DRILL, REFINE, and TRANSPORT fuel to the global market.

Tanks delivered in mid-2025 is another stupid move by the globalists.

You may be right. I only have a few ideas of how this plays out. It's very complicated and much is still 'sealed.' I believe whomever this modern Babylon is (I think it's likely America), is about to get hit by a massive attack. Those countries left, China, probably Russia, Iran, etc, will duke it out with Israel, eventually. When all seems lost, I think that's when Christ will come to the aid of Israel, but only after He's asked to.

I also believe the 'rapture' for those 'in Christ' will occur at some point. Hopefully before the worst parts of this take place. JMHO ...

Lots, and lots, point to this being the end of age the bible talks about.

Yes, it’s another way to disarm the American military.

He already took away their fuel by raiding the strategic fuel reserve more than once.

Hi friend. Yes, we've talked about the possibilities of this for years. It's becoming clearer who this is. There are many, many characteristics America shares in the bible's description. One of the clear signs, is the authorization of abortion by our USSC back in '73. That was a big snare for the Satanic forces to trap us. From our shores, the practice spread worldwide, to claim over a billion lives. It's related to Rev. 18:24, "And there was found in her the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who had been slain on the earth." A billion lives in less than 50 years is more lives taken than in all the wars in recorded history. Even Islam in 1400 years only took about 300 million lives. And there are many other indicators of the whore being America - which was once a "golden cup in the Lords hand."

Just my thoughts. It's complicated.

Biden ignoring Ukraine while partnering with Russia on Iran is what “provoked” Putin. He thought a free pass to extend the Russian empire and took it.

Putin and his ilk think Ukraine is part of Russia. Maybe you agree? Putinists want empire. Maybe you prefer Russia’s neighbors living in the misery and hell of the Russia World? Unsurprisingly, Ukrainians don’t want KGB torture chambers in their communities.

Putin choose this war and invasion. Nobody else. It’s so typical of Bolsheviks to put responsibility for their murderous spree on their victims. We must reject such self serving strawmen arguments for what they are and stick to our conservative core values of liberty and justice for all. No peoples should be forced to live in the filth and scum of the Russian World.

Did the Kremlin lie about Katyn for 50 years? Yes. Is there a chance they’re not doing the same now? Nope. Potemkin Russia is nation built on lies. Don’t be duped.

It’s gut bustlingly hilarious to see supporters of Putin’s Russia zing Ukraine for “corruption.” Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. If Russia wasn’t so corrupt they would have indeed rolled Ukraine in 3 days. Instead, they’re still looking for those 1.5 million “missing” winter army uniforms, etc. LOL.

We are at war with Russia. We have so damaged bilateral relations, it will take generations to repair. By trying to isolate Russia, we (US and allies) we have isolated ourselves and driven Russia and China closer together. The dollar is now under attack as the world’s reserve currency. Most of the world is ignoring the sanctions, including some NATO countries.

Supporters of Ukraine don’t give two shits about America. This only makes America weak against real enemies. I have yet to hear anyone explain America’s interest in Ukraine. How does sending money and weapons to Ukraine improve any American’s life? How does it make America stronger? It doesn’t.

Easy answer. Kicking Russian corruption and influence out of Europe only strengthens America. President Trump agrees and that’s why sanctioned that corrupt Russian pipline to Germany and campaigned for good job creaing American Energy into Europe. I guess we don’t want that? Or maybe we want to Make Russia Great Again? Putin isn’t going to win for us. Sorry.
