They can fly at more than 1,200mph and are some of the most advanced aircraft in NATO's fleet. Could the F-16 be sent to Ukraine?
Could F-16 fighter jets soon be screaming over Kharkiv or breaking the sound barrier as they tear through the skies above Zaporizhzhia?
It once seemed impossible, but now? Maybe not.
As the Western world looks to Germany for a decision over Leopard 2 tanks, it was from the Netherlands that a possibly more radical idea was floated: sending Western-made fighter planes to Kyiv for use by Ukrainian pilots.
The Dutch cabinet said will look into supplying F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine if the Kyiv government asks for them, the country's media have reported.

cant separate the two.
He also called on US soldiers to turn on the govt.
That depends on the mission.
If the mission is to orbit in western Ukraine and intercept cruise missiles, then minimum training would be required.
I have always admired the attack on the Baghdad reactor. Do you know any of the pilots that flew that mission?
Hope all is well with you.
Is that such a bad idea at this point in time? ;-D
Yes.
We were present at the christening of the F-16 at Hill AFB.
Husband was one of the early maintenance officers on the F-16 and he retired in 1981.
I believe it was one of the first “fly by wire” aircraft, and many interchangeable parts.
I remember several accidents resulting in aircraft loss, but because of the excellent “egress” system no pilots lost while my huuband was there.
The problems with our electoral system are not going to be fixed by voting.
Never heard of it.
What attack? Huh? When? I don’t know anything.
Look, a squirrel!
“this is what passes for MAGA today!”
Perhaps in Lubyanka Square or 24 Kuznetsky Post, Moscow, Russia.
Not really.
It is not full blown logistics, maybe enough to fly one or two sorties for all jets.
Getting European stocks? Each country that has Lawn Darts is not going to sacrifice its ability to maintain a viable Lawn Dart squadron.
“If Russia can hire mercenary Serbian infantry, why can’t Ukraine hire recently retired American F-16 pilots?”
Hard to do, especially when those pilots are in or going to be in the airlines.
Big bucks after a couple years.
“I remember an early documentary on the F-16 saying that they were the most dangerous fighters to fly due to the high Gs pulled. The best pilots were said to be short women with high blood pressure.”

Well, there you go… TIME TO DRAFT STACEY ABRAMS to save the day.
F-16s & F-15s flew the mission.

No squirrel. I would bet that all of the pilots had at least 10 years experience for this type of mission.
Yes, it is what he said.
Take it up with some one else, as I’m just reporting what other reputable military people have written elsewhere.
So, really!
PS your comments about lawn darts makes no sense.
vs. Big bucks now and the thrill of the chase?
The F-16 earned the title of Lawn Dart because of its many mishaps when first hitting the skies.
“What is a quick way to get a part of an F-16?”
Answer: buy an acre of land in Germany.
Having been engaged against the F-16 and hanging out with then at Nellis and working in the Pentagon on logistic on a many jets, I am very well aware of preposition issues affecting the F-16s. Can deliver the jet but then it would sit until pilots are mission ready and logistics are sufficient to support operations.

All of that will happen before they are delivered.
These are things you could look up you know.
Egypt had a complex history and it collapsed or was conquered several times. It did have some good long runs, true.
