Huge blow for Putin as Germany says it WON'T block Poland sending Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine:

Europe to send modern armoured vehicles as Russia prepares new mobilisation

Kyiv and allies have been calling on Germany to send Leopard 2 battle tanks Germany has been reluctant, but foreign minister has signalled shift if position

Germany would not block Poland sending its Leopard 2 battle tanks to Ukraine, its foreign minister said, in a blow for Putin and his invading forces.

Ukrainian officials have been calling on Western allies to supply them the modern German-made armour for months, but Germany has held back from sending them or allowing other Nato countries to do so.

In apparent shift, Annalena Baerbock said her government would not block Poland if it were to send its Leopard 2 tanks — although Poland's prime minister later said Warsaw would seek Berlin's sign-off.

Leopard tanks, used by an array of Nato countries but whose transfer to Ukraine requires Berlin's sign-off, are seen by defence experts as the most suitable heavy battle tanks for Ukraine's needs — as Russia prepares for a new mobilisation.

German officials 'know how important these tanks are' and 'this is why we are discussing this now with our partners', she said.

Germany has been under heavy pressure to let Leopards go to Ukraine but the Social Democrat party of Chancellor Olaf Scholz is traditionally sceptical of military involvement and wary of sudden moves that could trigger Russian escalation.

Ms Baerbock's remarks appeared to go further than Scholz's comments at a summit in Paris on Sunday that all decisions on weapons deliveries would be made in co-ordination with allies, including the United States.

Ukraine says the heavily armoured battle tanks would give its ground troops more mobility and protection ahead of a new Russian offensive expected in coming months, and could give them the firepower they need to regain the momentum.

Escalation?

The Russians got drones from Iran, so does that give Ukraine the right to attack Iran?

They are not tiny. They are the power base in Ukraine. Zelinsky literally ran on a platform of ending the war in the east, abiding by Minsk II, and pulling back Uke armed forces.

he won around 70% on THAT platform. There is a video out there of him going east, and meeting with Azov. The told him to his face, on VIDEO, that if he ordered that move they would disobey and double the amount of their force, and would hang him from a lightpole on Kreschatik Street in Kiev.
He told them “you cannot speak to me that way, I am the President”. But they did. Now he does what they say.

In raw numbers they are not a majority, but the nazi element in Ukraine calls the tune. Quit making it personal you azzwipe. Disagreeing with you does not mean someone is a paid Russian, seeing Putin as a savior, etc. You need to grow up and accept that in America, some people do dislike nazis, and sometimes have opinions different than yours.

That was, you will note, in 1991.
No longer the case, and hasn’t been for three decades.
I require your surrender, beaten as you are.

“Russians also had presence in the Isolationist movement, telling the US to stay out of the “Imperialist European War”.”

The German American Bund was very active. They also tried to keep America out of WW2. They used isolationist reasons.

You are not a paid Russian agent but you love Putin too much. Write as much drivel as you like. The Nazis in Ukraine are few and far between. STOP lying!

Stop being stupid, like Putin is. Your Putin inspired nazi act fails, with anyone with a brain.

The Poles are much more militant on the subject of Russia than the US is. Both in word and in deed.

Well, the Poles are certainly buying lots of “guns”. (And making South Korean arms makers very very happy.)

If we actually sent Ukraine a reasonable number of HIMARS and M777-ER’s, the Ukies could do a good job of keeping Russkie arty off the tanks. The Ukies would still have the larger Russian drones to worry about, though.

The USSR disappeared in 1990s.

The USSR was merely one expression of the pattern. Late in Yeltsin's rule, he told Bill Clinton that Russia wanted all of Europe and all of Asia.

So far, they’ve had a VERY tough time doing that to the HIMARS. Maintenance due to extremely heavy use has been a bigger problem.

Well, the Poles sent a lot more weaponry previous to this: Russia whined and did nothing.

No restraint?

We have sent less than 6% of our HIMARS, and none of the longer range / heavier missiles. We’ve sent no aircraft. (Ukraine did receive some old parts for MIG’s to get a few more flying.) We’ve sent no CURRENT model tanks. We’ve not sent our best long range artillery, and are stingy on quantities of what’s been sent. We’ve not... do I actually need to continue?

No, not well done at all — a VERY shallow and short history study indeed.

Hell, if the Ukies had had all those goodies in Jan. 2022, in working order or reasonably close to working order, the Russian Generals would have tossed Pooty out the 10th story window...

It is short - an off the cuff summary.
Even that shows far better understanding of the history then shouting “Nazi Nazi” about both sides that most do in this discussion.

You’re welcome to do better!

Bulwyf This is simply provoking a direct conflict between NATO and Russia. .

That is false on many levels, let me break it down for you

Was that clear enough for you?
