Many of the “boat people” from Vietnam were Chinese. One of my sisters in law, for example.

I worked with a former boat person. HIS experience in a North Vietnamese prisoner of war camp, was the kind of stuff they make movies from.

I had a coworker who’s family escaped Pol pot’s Cambodia. Horrific story, straight out of The Killing Fields.
