Former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley says she's close on making a decision to run for president in 2024.
Well, when you're looking at a run for president, you look at two things. You first look at ‘does the current situation push for new?’ The second question is, ‘am I that person that could be that new leader?’ You know, on the first question, you can look all across the board, domestic, foreign policy. You can look at, you know, inflation going up, economy shrinking, government getting bigger, you know, small business owners not being able to pay their rent. Big businesses getting these bailouts, all of these things warrant the fact that, yes, we need to go in a new direction," Haley said.

Her parents were both aliens ... She’s ineligible.
Having done more research, I agree with you. Since past cases define natural born as being born to citizens, why was Obama allowed to run seeing his father was Kenyan?
She is the queen of the attack on Confederate monuments.
When her father received his PhD in 1969, he moved his family to South Carolina, Nikki was born in 1972. I guarantee neither of her parents were American citizens when she was born, thus she is may have been born a U.S. citizen, but not a natural born citizen, and is thus not eligible to become president.
WTF!
Is this RINO kidding?
protected by courts which would not take a case and focus was on birthplace. His father was a Brit by virtue of Kenya being a Brit colony but you didn’t hear much about that.
Sorry Nikki your dream will never happen.
You will this time.
If Nikki were to come forward and state that it was a mistake for her to make that decision, and she has learned by it, would you feel differently about her then, as a viable candidate - for anything? Influential lobby groups attacking our historic American flags, statues, literature and public area paintings is a kind of new phenomena.
10 years ago, this wasn’t a big deal, but it has been so ever since the Obama Administration. This is the first generation of politicians who have been on the ‘front lines’ of setting state policy for such issues. Perhaps she is prepared to admit she took the easy way out, all in the name of avoiding more riots.
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is struggling with such a new challenge right now, having to do with Trans individuals. No previous Governor has had to hammer out ‘accepted state policy’ on this topic before her.
There is no precedent.
Neither has Gropey Joe.
what a stupid argument for running......
Kristi Noem is another squish whom I hope will never come anywhere near the White House. If she can't stand up to the tranny lobby, which represents a fraction of a percent of the population, then how the hell can she be expected to stand up to Red China, Russia, North Korea, ISIS and the drug cartels?
A mass murder committed at a church by a perp whose “flags” were from Rhodesia and South Africa in the 1970’s not the “Stars and Bars” of the Confederacy.
Nikki joined with Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott on that Confederate flag move.
South Carolina is so sensitive to Banking and Corporate interests drawing in big businesses that’s one way of seeing it but bad move by all those elected officials.
Sorry, I disagree.
That’s a H#!! NO!
wiki has a good article The big issue is whether or not a candidate’s parents have to be US citizens when he or she was born.,
In the 1740s Vattel whose writings were known to the founders write a Natural born citizen is one who is born in country to citizen parents. many countries have required the father to be a citizen. Many in the uS argue it doesn’t matter as long as the person was born here. Unfortunately the founders did not define the term. But if you think about a person born with citizenship options like Obama because of his father, the founders would not put a potential brit in charge of the uS military., (letter between Jay and Washington)
The vice-president must be a natural-born citizen, in the same manner as the president. UCLA professor Eugene Volokh said Harris is a natural-born citizen because she was born in the United States.[225] In a Newsweek op-ed, Chapman University professor John C. Eastman asked if Harris’s parents were U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents at the time of her birth or if they were temporary visitors, perhaps on student visas. He then stated that if they were temporary visitors, then “under the 14th Amendment as originally understood”, she would not be considered a U.S. citizen at all—much less a natural-born citizen—and might not even be eligible for her then-current position in the Senate.[226] Responding to criticism it received, Newsweek’s editors wrote that Eastman’s “essay has no connection whatsoever to so-called ‘birther-ism’”. The response went on and stated, “the meaning of ‘natural born Citizen’, and the relation of that Article II textual requirement to the 14th Amendment’s Citizenship Clause, are issues of legal interpretation about which scholars and commentators can, and will, robustly disagree.”[227] Newsweek also published Volokh’s rebuttal to Eastman’s essay.[228] Colin Kalmbacher in Law & Crime responded to Eastman by saying that Eastman misstated “the state of the law – as well as the opinions of the legal community and the precedents of the courts – based on an incorrect reading of the” Supreme Court case United States v. Wong Kim Ark from 1898.[229] Newsweek later apologized after receiving a strong negative reaction to the publication, saying they had “entirely failed to anticipate the ways in which the essay would be interpreted, distorted and weaponized” and that their publication of it “was intended to explore a minority legal argument about the definition of who is a ‘natural-born citizen’ in the United States. But to many readers, the essay inevitably conveyed the ugly message that Senator Kamala Harris, a woman of color and the child of immigrants, was somehow not truly American.”[230]
I recommend Natural Born Citizen on wikipedia or do a search Harvard has a good article i disagree with
Because liberals can do whatever they want. The laws don't apply to them.
