Yup...when I was a kid (*many* years ago) we had a boat (docked in Dorchester) and on Saturdays we'd go down there, tie up the boat and eat.I *loved* their clam chowder!

One time,in the summer of '67,we met Cream there. I had heard of them but wasn't very familiar with them at the time. My little sister went up to them (she was about 10) and they were very rude.

Probably all the cocaine and LSD they had done earlier!

Thanks for sharing that!

Neither one of us eats fish/seafood so we were there strictly for the views. Whatever chicken/steak we ordered wasn’t bad.

Way OT, when Hendrix arrived in London as an unknown, he went to a Cream show. Chas Chandler (his producer) got him backstage, where Jimi asked to sit-in. Clapton was considered god (I don't see it personally but I digress) and "one does not simply ask to jam with Cream." Nonetheless, the Brits agreed to have this lanky American black dude sit in. Eric stayed onstage in case he needed to step in. Remember, Jimi was an unknown.

Hendrix called for "Killing Floor" which Clapton disliked because it was it was too hard or something like that. Jimi plugged in and "raged through the song" and blew everyone away.

Clapton's hands fell off his guitar, and he went backstage. When found, Eric's hands were shaking as he tried to light a smoke, saying "is he really that good?"

America 2, UK 0.
