The rain needs to fall on the Sierras and then runoff to the coast. It appears the coast is getting the brunt of it.

Gibberish. Captain Obvious’ take on what happens when it rains. It’s rare you see an article so devoid of useful information

Here in Florida retention ponds for storm water are now required on new development.

In early September my backyard becomes Lake Griffin.

Because stupid people run California.
They can’t think outside of their green ideology.

So “that’s the rub.”

“… a large part of that does end up flowing out to the ocean.”

I bet the salmon are happy, anyways.

Just NPR (deep state) excuse for the fact that California, in spite of successive droughts, has failed to expand its resovoirs enough, and even, intentionally diverts to the ocean a ton of water that comes down the rivers and streams in the central valley.

Uh, nowhere to store it? The last major dam and reservoir were completed 50 years ago when the state population was half of what it is today.

But I’ll go with your answer.

A number of years ago kalifornia voters approved a big bond measure to build more dams. Needless to say the money got spent on everything but new reservoirs

Every house in California should have a rain barrel, and maybe a cistern too.

Even though California’s population has doubled the last forty years, they have built no new dams. In fact they have demolished some existing ones. All in the interest of the environment....

Ive often said that this large country should have a pipe solution that can direct excess water to a place where it can be redirected when needed.

Follow the California science .... blow up the dams and let the water dribble away into the sea.

They have not built a reservoir since 1979. That could be part of the problem.👀
