The probable cause affidavit in the University of Idaho killings case was released on Thursday, showing exactly what led to the arrest of suspect Bryan Kohberger.
On December 30, Kohberger was arrested by law enforcement officials in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Kohberger, a 28-year-old Ph.D. student in the criminology department at Washington State University, was arrested on charges including four counts of murder in the first degree as well as one count of felony burglary.
His arrest came more than a month after four University of Idaho students were found dead in their off-campus residence. Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were determined to have been stabbed multiple times on November 13.

Thanks. I’m following the case. Watched a discussion about it last night on Court TV. Makes no sense that the girl on the first floor did not call 911 for over 7 hours.

Maybe she was staying still and quiet to save her own ass. Maybe she was intoxicated and fell back into a deep sleep.
1. There's no indication that the suspect was driving east to Pennsylvania with his father as reported a day or two ago.
2. Kohberger spent a month in Pullman after the murders on Nov 13. Kohberger's car was seen on video in Loma, Colorado on Dec 13 (no time given). It is 902 miles from Pullman, WA to Loma, CO.
3. Kohberger surveilled the victims' residence at least 12 times:
On December 23, 2022 pursuant to that search warrant, I received historical records for the 8458 Phone from AT&T from the time the account was opened in June 2022. After consulting with CAST SA, I was able to determine estimated locations for the 8458 Phone from June 2022 to present, the time period authorized by the court. The records for the 8458 Phone show the 8458 Phone utilizing cellular resources that provide coverage to the area of 1122 King Road on at least twelve occasions prior to November 13, 2022. All of these occasions, except for one, occurred in the late evening and early moming hours of their respective days.His last surveillance of the victims' residence was November 13 between 9:12 am and 9:29 am.
4. His cell phone records show he was at his apartment in Pullman on November 13, 2022 at approximately 2:42 a.m.
5. His cell phone did not report to the network between 2:47 am and 4:48 am on Nov 13.
6. His cell phone did not go back to Moscow after the murders.
7. There is this curious item about the suspect's father at the bottom of page 16:
On December 27, 2022, Pennsylvania Agents recovered the trash from the Kohberger family residence located in Albrightsville, PA. That evidence was sent to the Idaho State Lab for testing. On December 28,2022, the Idaho State Lab reported that a DNA profile obtained from the trash and the DNA profile obtained from the sheath, identified a male as not being excluded as the biological father of Suspect Profile. At least 99.9998% of the male population would be expected to be excluded from the possibility of being the suspect's biological father. Does this suggest that Kohberger's father could be a suspect? I cannot figure out the language.Overall, Kohberger strikes me as an idiot to be using one phone tied to him and using one car licensed to him.
But apparently, he had his phone on a dozen times prior to the murders, as he stalked them. And, he had it on when he went back to the house hours after the murder.
And he dropped the knife sheath.This guy thought he was a genius.

That was my first assumption, too, until I noticed she described him as having “bushy eyebrows,” which I guess means his upper face wasn’t covered.

Amazed. She heard someone scream, then heard “someone’s in here”, then heard a person say, “it’s ok, I’m going to help you”. The third time she goes into the hallway and a man in black with a black face mask walks by her and leaves through the sliding glass door.
What does she do? “Freezes in shock”, goes back in her room and locks the door. Doesn’t think, maybe I should call 911, or call to her roommates if they were ok, ask “did you see the guy that was in here”? NOPE, obviously goes to sleep and no one calls the police for over seven hours. Had she called 911 maybe a couple of these kids who “bled” out could have been saved.
It is really unbelievable.
I don’t doubt he’s guilty. When police said they had DNA evidence, I figured they probably have the right guy.
But, the more evidence we hear, the more this case sounds like a plot for a Hollywood movie.
By the way, she wasn’t on the first floor. Her bedroom was on the second, which is where she saw the killer and watched him leave through the sliding door. Which makes me curious, the affidavit said the male and female victims bodies were in the bedroom doorway on the second floor. How did she not see them when she left her bedroom, how could it have been thought someone was unconscious?

I think it just means the DNA match proves this man is the biological father of the person whose DNA was found on the sheath.
The roommate who was confronted by Kohberger said he was dressed in black with a black mask on his face. What stood out was he had bushy eyebrows. Kohberger has bushy eyebrows.
They found the knife sheath next to one of the victims on a bed. That sheath had Kohberger’s DNA on it. They know what kind of knife fits that sheath.
That is pretty incredible.
