Good Achilles heel. Trump picks the wrong people nearly every time.

I agree with Trump.
Of course, this is quite a conundrum for EverTrumpers.

Don’t care. Trump is wrong. He surrounded himself with snakes in the White House.

Gee, I wonder who Ron DeSantis backs as House Speaker?

Hope Trump knows what he is doing! If McCarthy gets elected and backstabs, it will be on his shoulders. He should of stayed out of this. Believe MTG is guiding him and feel she has turned.

I think Trump can go either way on this. He didn’t really endorse him that strongly to begin with.

Put that kind of power in a man who never was a Trump conservative.. Take away pleasing.. Add in personal wants..
And you have a Pelosi Mccarthy
To: Erik Latranyi
Interesting that many want McCarthy, another Ca. Pol who will lead this country down the wrong road. The last Ca. Pol who was Speaker almost destroyed the Country.

Trump should sit back and just watch
To: Erik Latranyi
Surprising; McCarthy has been in office a long time and has done nothing as a Pol.

President Trump has a real problem when it comes to choosing conservatives.
This does nothing to make me want to see him as president again. In fact, it does the opposite.

No where in Trump’s statement does he urge McCarthy to return to House Rules
before Pelosi changed them. Big mistake.

Most likely he’s heard that a few of the holdouts squished overnight.

The only real argument against Trump being the 2024 Republican nominee is his failure to flush out the RINOs from the party who are hostile to him, and the MAGA agenda. Trump needs to back off on his support for RINO McCarthy and treat him with the same disdain he has for McConnell. These RINOs have sided against MAGA, and for China. They need to go, and the Republicans need to do what it takes to elect a Speaker with a pair to deal forcefully with voter fraud and fraudulent elections. That’s not McCarthy.

It’s not about who The Speaker will be per se. It’s about the fact that the republican party is a fake party that continues to help America’s enemies destroy our country. Where have they been while America is destroyed? They are a big, big part of the problem. America is an oligarchy trying desperately to still appear like a democracy. I’d have more respect for the real rulers of America if they disbanded Congress and ruled outright instead of hiding like little rats in the shadows

Too bad McCarthy never supported him against the swamp.

What we are seeing is a well executed squeeze play being executed on McCarthy. A large number of House Republicans want to kill any investigations into government corruption, the weaponized FBI/DOJ/DHS/CIA/IRS administrative state, The Jan 6 False Flag operation and persecution of protesters, the Bidens, The 2020 Election Denier narrative , the Border Crisis, ect and keep playing go along to get along. They are pressuring McCarthy and he is going along with them. The Freedom Caucus is playing hardball to push forward to clean up Washington and they are standing firm to pressure McCarthy to ink an iron clad no back stab agreement with knowlegeable hardliners in the key committee positions to keep things moving forward agressively once McCarthy is elected. Good cops are guys like Trump and Jim Jordan signaling to McCarthy the path to Speaker is clear if he plays ball to keep him from bolting to a Democrat coalition. The risk is group of RINOS and Democrats forming a coalition to elect a third party like Liz Cheney as the Speaker. This is a risk to both the Freedom Caucus holdouts and to McCarthy . As of right now, McCarthy is ballking accepting The Freedom Caucus terms . It's a dangerous game with a very good chance of serious backfire. if this drags on the odds of a backfire that screws all increase rapidly.
