Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) will vacate her congressional seat on Tuesday after becoming a wealthy woman during her six years of serving Wyoming.
Cheney, who lost her Republican primary by nearly 40 points in August, will depart Congress on January 3 and return home as a defeated 56-year-old never Trumper.
Cheney will not depart Congress empty-handed. During her six years in Congress, she has become very wealthy. Breitbart News reported in August that Cheney’s net worth ballooned from an estimated $7 million when she first took office in 2017 to possibly more than $44 million in 2020. Depending on the specifics of her latest financial disclosure form, Cheney’s net worth could have skyrocketed up to 600 percent in Congress.

Just ask the Kennedy’s and the Clinton’s and the Biden’s and the Soetero’s.
Enter congress modestly, come out a millionaire. Let’s audit all their tax returns and release them as was done for Trump.
I certainly hope she spends a bunch of those campaign funds for personal use…please, please, please.
It’s been a whole lot easier since the bitch left town
It’s been a whole lot happier without her face around
Nobody upstairs gonna stomp and shout
Nobody at the back door gonna throw my laundry out
She hold the shotgun while you do-si-do

Been a whole lot easier since the bitch is gone

As to Liz C, can we say “Pay Off”?
That’s a fact....
And Kennedy’s “legacy” is the Immigration Act that has ruined this country.
How did she “earn” millions on a congresscritter’s salary?
I’m sure they each feel entitled, like celebrities (in their own mind).
Our country has it upside down by allowing celebrity status for these grifters. They should be just the caretakers of the details of laws US society has agreed on.
It’s like elevating sports referees or umpires above the star players. A sports league succeeds because the public wants to see the rare talents of the star players. The refs/umps just help the game go smoothly and in the best case are not noticed.
In 1962, Kennedy signed the Migration and Refugee Assistance Act, which was created to help foreign nationals from the Western Hemisphere who had fled from persecution in their home countries. The act was specifically created to assist Cubans fleeing the government of Fidel Castro.
The problem was this was carried way beyond it’s intention...
LBJ didn’t help things in 1965...
I hope the witch chokes on that ill-gotten money.
You got that right. drew68 is an absolute POS!
completely absurd
Good analogy with sports and refs/umps.
But it’s bad, really really bigly badly bad. See here and try to keep your cool:

We are not jealous of a person’s wealth. But if we are wealthy, do we need to have our ultra millionaire colleagues with us in Congress?
Is this club of ultra millionaires and billionaires a true representation of the American people? Especially as many arrive to Congress with an empty suitcase and exit with a suitcase stuffed with Benjamins.
Examples of Members arriving with little to nothing:
AOC: former job: bartender
Net worth now: $5 million+, and growing. WTH?
Paul Ryan: former job: Driver of OscarMeyer Weinermobile
Net worth now: $20 million+
To be fair, Ryan got his bachelor’s degree, and went to work in Congress as a legislative aide, then ran for Congress, elected when he was 28 years old. Nothing wrong here, but the $20 million? When questions were swirling about all this money he suddenly came up with, his PR agents said he married a rich gal, only she wasn’t rich, her father was well-to-do, but he was still living! WTH?
I wish there one entrepreneurial investigative reporter somewhere that would pull the thread on the source of wealth for just one of the uniparty. Pelosi, Ryan, Bitch McC, Mad Maxine...
Not out of jealousy. Finding and ending corruption.
Of course with the 2 tiered justice system, the next question is what to do with such info.
Not quite true.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
Candidates raise millions and billions for themselves and through political action committees during political campaigns.
There are rules in place for how money can be used after a campaign ends.
Permissible uses include charitable donations and donations to other candidates while personal use is prohibited.
Campaigns may refund money to donors or redistribute it with their permission if they drop out.
Super PACs may use leftover campaign cash to support the same candidate in other elections.
I certainly hope you’re right, but sense there are loopholes.
One I found is the funds can be used for travel, lodging, meals, clothing, laundry etc. as long the expenses are claimed to be campaign related.
For example, she could be asked to speak somewhere and claim say $10,000 in expenses.
The biggest money laundering scheme is connected to ghostwritten “book deals”, which distributors are paid for pre-orders by outsiders with a cut going to the “author”; clever bribery scheme.
My overall sense is there should be zero campaign funds period. Pols can speak to voters on their own dime.
In Socialist Seattle-King County, there was one good idea to come out of the rotten bunch, that was/is each candidate gets a same reasonable allotment amount of funds to campaign on at taxpayer expense, and zero funds from anywhere else. Airtime was granted in equal installments.
I know, I know ..... but the idea was to put candidates on an equal footing. I was willing to pay $5 for that.
